DF was pretty forgettable

The crafting and dragon mounts are forever going to stain the game. Those need to be taken out.

Yeah I wasn’t really a fan of most of the writing/story direction in DF in part because all of it is riddled with typos and grammar errors, but I like a lot of the gameplay and UI features that were added or updated…when they work properly, particularly with regard to the UI which seems to break a different thing almost daily these days. Most of all, I like that there isn’t any borrowed power that we’ll be abandoning as soon as TWW starts. No artifacts, no Azerite, no soulbinds!

I dont know. Something done so horrifically bad will leave a permanent stain on this game.

The story was complete trash. Crafting was a failure. The community is somehow even worse. Dragon riding was mid at best.

People will remember.

I liked the Blue dragonflight story. A lot.

Crafting took a step forward, but still needs some tweaks.

Since Legion all of the expansions have been a solid meh…from 4 out of 10 to 5.5 out of 10…

Ironically, that is my average for legion as well.

Legion started as a 2. Ended as a 9. I cant forget how absolutely horrible Legion was for its first half.

Different groups of people. Blizzard just needs to learn to tune out the Andies.

WoW should always feel “Warcraftian” / “Metzenian”. Period.

Legions launch was so bad, it was a reverse cataclysm in my mind

Yea, it was a fecal matter show the first half… the way legendaries drops for some people and others never got any.

The thing is. Everyone always things their ideas are whats best. And everyone else are the “Andies”.

Combined with how difficult and near impossible it was to play more than one spec, not to mention alts.

For me nobody but Raz left any kind of impression. The others are just kind of throwaways. Raz was the opening antagonist and the one with the most screen time and exposure. The rest were just kind of there.

Otherwise, agree with basically everything, it’s a very forgettable expansion.

The best thing that can be said about DF is that things were removed from what was the WoW structure (all of the borrowed power systems). It was an expansion that gave us a slightly better game by removing things, not adding much.

For me the story of every expac is forgetabble, but the systems and raids i remember forever and thats what makes the expac good or bad to me

That is generally how it is for me as well. I will remember what I spent my time actively doing more than the story.

There will be specific clips of the story I may remember. But the over all story? Its always a solid meh.

Yea, like no one can forget the lich king, but i still dont remember 90% of wraths story and i just did it again lol

I enjoyed the storylines. The story on each flight and especially that one set of stories with the dwarf on the edge of the platform. And then the Blue Dragonflight quest that brought back Awbee and turned the Lego Staff into an actual mount.

So many people ignore the stories, but it’s what I enjoy the most.

Warcraft was at its peak when it was “Warcraftian”. So… yeah. And it’s not “my idea”… it’s the heart of the franchise.

Danuser turned Warcraft into his fan-fic and it went into the toilet, instead of kneeling before Metzen. This stuff is sort of self-evident. What are you even doing bud?

That said, I am hopeful for the future when I’ve heard the new story-tellers describe themselves as “stewards” of the franchise/story. And of course, the return of the legendary Metzen, to bring the game back to its Metzenian roots.

I liked Korthia over any area in DF.

That is the sad truth and Korthia only showed us like 50% potential of what could have been with a lost city and looking for artifacts and treasures.

What does that even mean

As opposed to Knaak doing the same, and even worse during that “Warcraftian” time period?

Metzen is up against a lot of brow beating from that staff of scolds :stuck_out_tongue: Hopefully he makes it through.

Yeah, that’s absolutely wild to me. WILD. Obviously in all of their PR stuff they acknowledge Metzen as the GOAT because Blizzard upper management recognizes the value of Metzen, but it’s wild to me that we hear these rumors that low-level pleb writers are mad that the George Lucas / JRR Tolkien of the franchise has returned to continue the story. It’s so crazy to me. Why are you even working on Warcraft from a narrative point of view if Metzen isn’t your north star?
