It’s so forgettable I don’t even know what you’re talking about. Did you do your Maw dailies today?
I get it. You really liked shadowlands.
But man. I think I disagree with nearly everything listed here.
I don’t play for the story or characters, but yeah all that’s forgettable.
What i’ll remember is the introduction of dragonriding and the near complete lack of understanding of how to balance classes/specs and ensure the foundation of Wow PvP (random
and random epic BGs) is solid for casual, solo queueing.
It was kind of like Pandaria for me. Mechanically, I really liked the game, even if the story was a bit of a yawn.
Same with me and my friends who play wow, shadowlands felt closer to the heart and more fun/interesting , than this.
Never cared much about dragons like this though, didn’t feel like wow to me this expansion , at all
Tiresome and tedious are the best ways to describe this xpac. When we weren’t being lectured, we had to listen to badly written fan fics that subbed in as lore. In a few year, I doubt anyone will remember this except as the xpac that gave us ‘dynamic’ flying and evokers.
I can’t believe it, but the character writing in DF is unironically worse than Shadowlands.
Not gonna be that forgettable cause it added one of the best features this game has ever seen, Dragon-Flying.
And yeah, the story is not that remarkable, but you know what, I’d rather forget an expansion based on natural factors, like the passing of time than an expansion I want to force myself to forget like Shadowlands.
It was low stakes, yes. Because for several expacs there people kept going “I just want to be on Azeroth, not saving the universe from low-quality knockoff villain or going to other planets saving them from the Legion. Whatever happened to being a hero on Azeroth?!”
Well, guess what folks, you’re a hero on Azeroth. We’re now set up for a trilogy of expansions where that’s exactly what we are.
There are many many many many cases in the history of this game where a lot of people go “Noooo Blizz why you give us checks notes exactly what we asked for?”
Ok you make some good points but I will never forget helping Lillistrasza fix her stuffed duck tyvm.
Same. Quit multiple times during DF too. DF is literally a raid log expansion.
DF is to SL as Legion is to WoD - both look good with a terrible expac behind them, but both still have glaring issues.
Koroleth was bald.
I think the immersion level was simply better during Legion, so it’s easier to remember the quests/story/etc
Some very memorable quests and moments for sure
Well said, dragonflight has been a resounding meh expansion for me in basically all situations. Shadowlands was a lot more fun than DF.
Your opinion is valid, even if wrong.
Same game with new graphics. Still serves it’s purpose for me as a distraction from real live and woes of our messed up world. It gives me opportunity to take my frustrations out on the cartoon world of warcraft.
i have no idea what the storyline was
galakrond was cool asf tho
thats about it
nah this was horrible. it was the beach expansion were everything was pretty low steaks and no one cares abt anyone lol. the funny thing is while this was much almost terrible in almost every way, i still feel like sl was way worse. ive played this expansion for less than sl but it could be bc crafting wasnt a crap show like this was so i stayed in the market and the setting, torgahst all that just made me depressed. it was a very dark expac but i mean we are deadlands but it was just got old fast lol just it was meh.
Just started the expansion finally and DF reminds me of this, specifically the writing Lynnie and the Gentle Dragon - a magical children’s book (youtube.com)
I love all the new features it added, especially new old talents, but the story and theme is so inexcusably bad that I hate the expansion anyway, it’s honestly the worst I’ve ever seen in a game and I’ve played some stinkers, come to think of it I haven’t seen a movie that bad either. It makes Mists of Pandaria look too edgy, it makes Paw Patrol look like a show for balding adults, it makes GoT season 7 and 8 awesome by comparison, there were 0 stakes, 0 mature themes, 0 complex situations, 0 emotion, 0 effort whatsoever put in. They were dodging serious emotional story moments like the writers were in the matrix. The main villain was a trash mob for crying out loud!!! Just bring back Galakrond as a boss or something sheesh…
Why do we keep getting these stories that are more immature than kid’s shows? Why do even the voice actors sound like they’re talking to a small child when they speak? They can do so much better than this, this is only a Warcraft story in name. At least Shadowlands had Kael’thas around for 2 seconds.
