The story was completely forgettable. But the gameplay mechanics added during DF were more impactful than maybe any other expansion.
I wont forget how they did the trolls dirty with the heriage weapon
Dragonflight was one of the best expansions of all time because it got rid of Rune of Power.
The Furbolgs had me at hello
That could be your own doing, like you were never invested in doing the quests and reading them or just enjoying them from the start. I remembered all of them and I hadn’t done those quests on this character yet. I did these quests back when df came out.
I just want to forget the world events. Forever.
I hope they never do that to us again.
agreed the story was just so dull so were the characters. Kind of over dragon lore for awhile.
In a few years, when WoW players are hating TLT, DF will be looked back on fondly. This same thing happened with MOP.
Everything that people are complaining about with DF now, people had the same complaints about MOP. People complained that Pandas were too goofy, that the expansion was too lighthearted and there wasn’t any edge. People did not see at the time that it had some of the best worldbuilding this game has ever done, nor the darker undercurrents of the story.
Today, more people say that MOP was their favorite, or at the least, it is up there with the “classic greats” like vanilla and WOTLK.
DF, in many ways, is like MOP to me. It is the same supposedly light-hearted story with darker undercurrents, it has an emphasis on fighting for the right reasons, for home and for family. It features a mostly chill, laid back atmosphere. And it has some of the best gameplay the game has had in a long time.
DF will age like wine, and people will come to see it as I do in the fullness of time.
I’d rather work with Zovaal than the void
DF doesn’t have anywhere near the story development that MoP did. It won’t be the same.
It cant be over fast enough. Thats for sure.
It was a very safe expansion. But my biggest gripe is that we had an expansion about Dragons and they were so boring. It takes a special kind of skill to make Dragons boring in a fantasy RPG, that’s like the go to for when studios need something awesome.
In what way?
i rememeber everything in legion
what a joy of an expansion
velen having to kill his own son who was an eredar commander.
That one questline has dragonflight entire story beat
Running around empowering the stones of each flight and killing ancient dragons who hate the titans is nowhere near as compelling as the lore of the races of Pandaria or the way the quests laid out the conflict with the Sha and juxtapose it alongside horde and alliance war
It was very low stakes.
I’d trade the entirety of Dragonflight for one quest chain with Theotar.
Was it just me, or were the NPCs especially useless this time around?
I mean, I get that in an adventure RPG you go around helping people’s problems, and if they solve too many of their own problems then there’s nothing for you to do and the game kind of sucks. But Dragonflight’s NPCs seemed especially incapable of helping themselves.
What did Alexstrasza even do all expansion?
I don’t really care about Zovaal one way or the other, but I loved the Shadowlands zones. Except the part in ZM with the wasps. That part can stay dead. But the rest of it was great.
I swear to god if there’s a soup quest in War Within, I’m joining the Harbinger.
Nah, cartoons for children are better than DF.
I’m normally completely indifferent to wow’s story since i skip quest text and have music playing too loud to hear any character dialogue, but I had a lot of fun in zaralek caverns with wrathion, not wrathion, and the cow saving the moles. I didn’t know what was going on, but not wrathion burnt his hand and needed the wahmbulence, and the cow turned into the gigachad and put out fire with the power of rocks all while dealing with spear to the chest damage. All in all I give it like, a brick out of 7 for comedy.
Oh and the mole manlet that gets dumped by the princess mole because he was a hole digging beta was also great. That gets at least a boulder out of 7.
DF also doesn’t have an S tier banger like Siege of Orgrimmar.
