Or maybe, players care about gear in a progression based game. And the new gearing system has made gearing so easy that they don’t have to run much anymore for upgrades.
Raid participation is probably down as well.
Some of us lived through WoD. This is still better than that.
This season’s pool is probably the most balanced. Difficulty, affixes, time to completion, etc. It’s just not that fun to play.
I would say that a big part of what is keeping these forums active is that as soon as anyone has anything to express about the game, the same white knight crew comes out to defend it no matter what.
The fact people hate this new role tells you all you need to know about the current end game of WoW. You can’t balance competitive content in a MMO with 39 specs around 5 man dungeon speed running. M+ should have never been a “pillar” of the end game.
Never was an issue dude. Even in Classic now, people just fill the party for dungeons, class choice is largely based on people not wanting people other rolling on upgrades for them.
The amount of “tank/healer lfg. rogue/mage/hunter” was non stop
Every group wanted 2 hard ccs. Minimum. So much so that it became common knowledge that one marker was for sap, and another for sheep/trap.
So it definitely was an issue.
In classic today its less of an issue because people have gotten more used to how trivial the content is. Which I also don’t feel is the best way to correct balance. “Make it so easy it doesnt matter what you do”
