You still need at least one player at each portal to kill elites. You are one mad lad if you think the event is solo.
Never joined a group for it.
How is it not solo ?
Are you one of those guys that “If someone around me” then it’s not solo ? Go play Dragon Age Inquisition.
I’ve done it several times. Not once did I have to portal camp nor did anyone else.
Are you killing the groups that slow that the progress goes backwards?
Once a portal has been captured three elites will appear periodically. If they are not defeated soon enough they will get to the portal and recapture it making the bar reset instantly. If the elites appear while you are still trying to capture a portal, the bar will pause until the elites are defeated.
I know how it works. The npcs are fine protecting it. Just don’t kill the other portals in slow motion.
If you think the NPCs are fine, and it is solo players’ fault for being slow, then you don’t know how it really works. The NPCs only last for 3 minutes or so, which is not nearly enough time to cap 3 other portals without a raid or multiple parties.
So then go play an rpg.
The question is, where is the cutoff line between something not worth the investment if not enough people will run it? What content has to be sacrificed for this new solo progression that will cause significant balancing issues and more work down the road?
Given that your definition of Solo seems to be as ethereal and floaty as it is and the fact that this is an MMORPG it seems to be impossible to reconcile it in a way that would satisfy you.
Try reading my actual statements instead of other posters who are trying to make me look unreasonable or inconsistent.
If content is not tuned or designed to be completed reasonably by a single player in DPS spec, then it is not meant to be solo content.
Grand Hunts are not solo content.
Storm’s Fury is not solo content.
Elemental Storms are not solo content.
Epic World Quests are not solo content.
Most weekly Obsidian Hold quests are not solo content.
The stronger “super” rares are not solo content.
DF open world might be PUG-friendly and casual, but if you feel you have to to find a group for something it should be a sign that the content was designed for groups.
WoW doesn’t stop being an MMO just because solo players have their own content.
Why create arbitrary and reactionary rules to try and abolish solo gameplay that never even existed in WoW early days? WoW got to be bigger than its competitors precisely because it didn’t have the rule that you can’t reach max level solo.
I was satisfied with solo progression in Legion and BfA. Wrath and MoP offered progression through queued content, which is not truly solo content but I found it enjoyable.
I would have been satisfied with SL if Torghast dropped gear.
DF has no true solo power progression system, and less truly solo content than we have seen in years. The queued content is not particularly rewarding either, because there is no Valor-like system.
cuz yall are nerds and got 0 blood elf type 2s
If solo progression were offered that was both enjoyable and comparable in gear rewards to group content, the issue would not be whether enough people are running it; the issue would become that not enough people are running the group content.
Solo progression is intentionally and continually being sacrificed to keep group content as profitable as possible.
Considering that the difficulty you’d need to make the reward structure comparable to group content, I don’t realistically see a way for Blizz to meet those goals without the rewards being useful for solo content only, which is still a major disincentive.
I also don’t think this poster understands that more people stick around to play with their friends than stick around to do grind arbitrary currency from dailies/rares.
How do you get Primal Infusions from world content?
I’m not being snarky. I’d really like to know.
It’s a reward for maxing each renown.
Ahh Thx… I forgot.
Which, sounds like something the priest actually wants (or at least says they want), the ability to get powerful items by substituting time for skill.
The level 40 Classic priest just wants to troll the forums and will move goalposts each time the game has what he asks for.
“Hunts aren’t solo content” for cripe’s sake.
And they want it now. not spread out over the course of the patch, they want full power from the start. taking 10.0.7 into account, DF S1 solo gear will enable higher relative ilvls than Korthia did (which they claimed were bad at the time, then loved in 9.2)
See: Korthia is not for casual players
