Devs STILL haven't done pathfinder

Hi, its me, your mom. Clean your room.

But really, pathfinder was the icing on the crapcake that was early wod.

It added to it, but wasn’t the soul cause of most unsubs.

It was the straw that committed genocide on all of the camels of Draenor.

Lol, takes a year to figure out how to do that! /sarc

I know this is the 1000th thread about pathfinder. But it’s important. The devs don’t like doing this stuff and neither do we. So just give us what you took. Flying is fun and gating it for a year is not. If you don’t want to fly then fine don’t.
We don’t ask for much, we’re not asking the next expansion to be amazing, all we want is choice to have fun they way we want.

Or you just have to prefer a play style that doesn’t involve exploring every inch of every zone (even the places you have no reason to go), finishing all the story quests even after you’ve reached level cap, and grinding rep.

I consider myself lucky that Pathfinder does align fairly well with how I prefer to play the game, but I’m not going to pretend that because I like to complete everything out in the world and love world quests, everyone does. And the number of people who never got a loremaster achievement prior to WoD tells me that no, Pathfinder doesn’t come from “playing the game normally” for a whole lot of players.

Ironically i was getting burnt out of Wow and wanted to quit until i got flying. Legit WoD is 10x better with flying vs a horrible slog without it. it’s actually kinda playable and easier to summon a group in weird as crap places like Atal and King’s rest having extremely weird land routes making you walk around three mountains like a mouse in a cheese hole maze.

Why should we care if there is a Dev that doesn’t have Pathfinder?

I see zero reason to care. You just come off creepy stalking someone to try to push your personal agenda.

Granted, developers should be able to play the game in peace.

However, it’s extremely relevant that developers play the content.

After all, you’d certainly want your raid developers to have played the raids and completed them so they understand any player concerns. And the same should go for other forms of game content such as Pathfinder.

I don’t agree.

I still think it comes off as creepy and people just looking for something to complain about.

Pathfinder doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, whether or not a single dev hasn’t finished it yet. :woman_shrugging:

They play on the PTR and the internal sandbox - for both classic and retail. I can see why they might not play the live retail and live classic ones as much. Six copies is quite a bit.

If they want me to have more gameplay, let us play alts without three grinds and let the content be the content, not the grinding! Remember when raiding was a jawbreaker you worked at each week, enjoying, flying from place to place. Until it became that you had to do silly rep grinds? What was the point of complaining and lambasting attunements when clearly azerite essences are like 3-7x timegated ‘lfg attunement’ quests? Not to mention dps often get free/easy essences while tank essences and anything that can offer survialbility/slows come from pvp where tanks are utterly useless and the one spec design system is terrible.

They completely changed and uprooted something many players enjoy greatly. They said YOU should do it because it’s good content. Of COURSE its relevant that they don’t do it themselves. This is FORCED to get back what they took.
Whats “creepy” is the devs deciding what players should find fun. Oh you like flying? too bad

Devs should be required to play, otherwise how can they know whether it’s fun or not. It’s like a chef who doesn’t taste his cooking. These current devs should be required to win 100 BGs on alliance before they get paid.

Consider this your first life lesson. You have to PUT IN YOUR OWN WORK to get somewhere.

Most generations learn this before puberty.

At least they are being ideologically consistent. They prefer ground mounts over flying so they use their ground mounts. No one is forcing them to fly so they don’t. Some of the no flying at all or pro PF group could learn a lesson from the developers.

So the devs need to put in their own work by your logic.
I guess pathfinder is Ahead of the curve for some people…

Idk, but I was talking to a friend of mine last night in discord, and he joked about pathfinder. He said I would rather be tied to a chair, and forced to watch the impeachment hearings all day long than do a bunch of rep grinds to get something that we had for years, and was never a problem until some suit decided to make it one lol.

Not so much that, but the anti/no flying crowd should follow this example instead of thinking forcing everyone to be grounded is somehow a compromise. You don’t like flying then don’t fly… the developers don’t want to fly.

  • There was a time when this was true… but when you removed wallwalking and the ability to use skill to climb up and explore hard to reach areas…less curious players never saw, you removed the thrill of ground based exploration.

When there is only one right way because you removed the ability to climb, and all other ways make you slide down an invisible barrier…exploration is not so fun anymore.

If only they was a simpler way. Oh wait there was just buying flying at max level for Gold. If they don’t want to fly don’t buy it.
