Developer Update: A Look at What’s Ahead for Wrath of the Lich King Classic

just looked it’s a 3.6 on the google play store, a ton of crap games beat it out.

“Predatory monetization schemes (e.g., ‘loot boxes’) in video games are purchasing systems that disguise or withhold the long-term cost of the activity until players are already financially and psychologically committed. Such schemes contribute to the increasing similarity of gaming and gambling and the potential for financial harm for those with Internet gaming disorder.”

You still don’t understand that graph showed subs dropping after the launch of LFD?

Alright then. At least Blizzard could read it correctly, which is why they removed LFD.

ya I was there, was a bit o fun he also kept blaming the dip on the chart Q2 (I believe) in LK on RDF but had the wrong date on the patch (it dropped two quarters after).

There were several studies and litigations about loot boxes, especially when the newer Star Wars Battlefront was announced. Gacha, loot boxes, etc are all considered HIGHLY predatory by anyone with two brain cells. It plays on the same receptors in the brain that handle addiction and gratification.

Finally! You admit that subs dropped after LFD launched, two quarters after. That’s the LONG TERM effects of LFD. You’re not going to see a substantial drop-off in subs the same quater something is introduced. It’s going to be a slow-burn, death by a thousand cuts.

That’s what businesses look at. While you may be interested in short-term investments, that’s not what billion dollar corporations are interested in. Which, again, is why LFD is being removed.

Glad we finally got this point.

umm no they went up durrr you still can’t read charts (subs were up after RDF the dip was before RDF was added) always trying to make us laugh…

read it sloooowly
dip on the chart Q2

it (RDF for the dense one) dropped two quarters after (while subs were back up)

By that logic, anything that is RNG is predatory. Mount farming is now predatory.

You are contradicting yourself Deflux.

Just gonna assume there’s some inane and incorrect statement here and enjoy the silence

read it sloooowly
dip on the chart Q2

Gonna toss your sage advice back at you before he pulls you in. not worth your energy on someone who just wants to be a problem on purpose.

No Deflux. We’re talking about the loss of subs in Cataclysm, which is after the introduction of LFD.

hehe seems he still can’t read words much less charts…

Too funny.

His posts are glorious ignored content for me and honestly the best WoW based social choice I’ve made in a while.

Cat subs dropped Cata Q2 durp and you blamed the lost of subs in it on RFD, it somehow caused sub loses 3 quarters after it drops lol keep the laughs coming.

My subs up in July might have some fun while I can post still.

Fair point, far be it for me to tell you how to enjoy your time, that’d make me the entirety of the anti-RDF base.

Correct, which is after LFD was introduced. In a timeline, it comes AFTER LFD came out.

Finally, we’re getting somewhere.

Can you quote where I blamed the loss of subs on LFD? I am merely pointing out a data observation.

Possibly, yes. It’s an idea called death by a thousand cuts or the slow-burn.

3 Quarters after it was lunched it caused a drop (but it was so bad it didn’t take effect till then and subs still grew after it was added for those 3 quarters? *you tie your own shoes?
