Destro lock feels really bad

funny, i am getting the exact same numbers - -literally doing it as we speak wondering what could be different.

They had to of messed this up

I’ve kinda brute forced my way to 25% Haste and it definitely feels better than it did but we still feel undertuned in cleave fights. If it’s mass AoE like tree boss in AA, we’re gods, but that’s one of our only niches right now.

The more I play this season, the more I want targeted Cataclysm, Channel Demonfire, and Cry Havoc (or just Havoc) buffs.

Yea nothing seems to have changed. I did some solo shuffle as destro I litterally couldn’t cast anything. Melees ran me to the ground and I’m 2200 xp 1800 as demo lock. The spec is unplayable. CB hits for 40-60k which for the cast time is nothing. I can’t kill anything in 2 bolts + incinerate. Makes me sad.

Exactly the same experience in solo shuffle, me as destro and 3 melees solo shuffle, barely can cast anything with 2 melee roflstomping on my butt 24/7 its a miserable experience, its so dumb that a 3 second cast hits less than an instant button from a melee character with no setup required…

they’ll just buff chaos bolt by 5% and call it tuning

Men, i feel that, really really really feel that, i was in the same situation.

And my team always saying “wtf are you doing”, “just use your teleports”, bruh i cant even move with the perma slow

People say that the game is balanced based on 3v3, Destro can’t handle cleave fights, everyone is “kill destro”, sometimes you can cast 1 or 2 chaos bolts, they were “buffed” but it does help if you are unable to cast due to silence, grip, stun, silence again, pushback.

I feel that This issue started when they removed the armor provided by Demon Armor.

Destro feels awful, it is the most simple it’s ever been possibly. I don’t understand how two specs in a 3 damage spec class are critically wounded either in gameplay damage or both, and the 3rd (Aff) feels bland and slightly too weak.

yea, madness was annoying, true, but now it’s too simple
I can’t help but feel they removed it because of clarity reasons more so than player feedback, specifically about when the damage amp was applied vs getting the cast time reduction

I hope some complexity is added back somehow, but ideally not in a super annoying way.

They have a bad habbit of listenting and being receptive to the wrong people imo.
Especially in regards to decimating bolt.

I tried all 3 specs. I dont see how anyone enjoys anything other than Demo personally. However from when this was originally posted, demo has drastically begun to spiral downward too.

I think it would feel good if they would make channel demonfire good. I like to play with channel demonfire. Making cataclysm viable would help too. Add a CD to RoF making it impossible to spam it. Buff channel demon fire. Buff cataclysm.

Make it 4 Shards on Chaos Bolt, and Rain of Fire down to 2 Shards baseline, but a talent instead to make it cost 3 max that triggers cataclysm at the area and you have a deal.

demo is pretty bad atm imo. It was good until 10.1. The spec has always been clunky in mythic+ but the damage was good enough before the last 3 nerfs, sorry sorry bug fixes i forgot now nerfs are called bug fixes, anyway the damage was good enough that bad rng or a bad tank or a healer always drinking or dps dying for no reason and needing a out of combat rez was not totally destroying your dps.

When i’m in a key rolling my damage is still good but 90% of the time that’s not how keys go. I had a 3k IO spriest in my key last week and the guy finished FH at 90k dps overall and he was dying all the time. I just switched on my hunter this week i’m done with my lock for the time being. It’s fun not having to care about downtime killing my imps and depleting my demonic core stack anymore.

As a casual player, to me Destruction hasn’t receive any essential changes ever since 7.3.5 (except the Rain of Chaos stuff). Every patch is all about Affliction and Demonology, and Destruction only get perfunctory tuning, again and again, or even worse, nerfed to the ground. So apparently the warlock designer doesn’t play destruction. Just because the top 1 to 5% destruction players can make top tier DPS in raid doesn’t mean the mechanics of current destruction is fun.

Here is my request/recommendation/wish list:

  1. Change Rain of Fire back to cost MANA, I don’t care if the damage is low, I just want to spam the fire rain. It just doesn’t worth 3 soul shards, not to mention Chaos Bolt, Destruction’s most powerful spell only cost 2 soul shards, how dare Rain of Fire costs 3? Instant Rain of Fire can be worked with Aftermath (either 5.0.4 Version or 5.1.0 Version) to add some flavor for Destruction.

  2. Change Fire and Brimstone back to its 5.3.0 Vesion (the toggle), the current version requires you to spend 3 points (in fact you need more than 3 points because Diabolic Embers is far away from Fire and Brimstone) to get the pathetic additional aoe damage with additional soul shard fragments.

  3. Bring back Charred Remains and make it as the advanced talent for Fire and Brimstone. Charred Remains can be a capstone talent for Destruction.

  4. Bring back Archimonde’s Darkness, Kil’jaeden’s Cunning(the 5.4.0 Version), and Mannoroth’s Fury and make them the new capstone talents for the Warlock Class Talent Tree. The current capstone talents in the class tree are so stupid and I won’t waste any talent point on them.

  5. Remove the cast time of Shadowfury

  6. Bring back Flames of Xoroth and use it to replace Fel Domination and Fel Pact, and change the cast time for demons back to 2.5 seconds.

  7. There should be a choice: you can either get interrupt as a baseline, or you can choose to keep it on your dog. Or you can have both, but with a limitation that the 2 interrupts share the CD.

Basically, PLEASE bring back the MoP Destruction Warlock. It was so fun to play.

This statement is false.
Even if you could cast 20 CB in 30 sec (wich is a lie), in a big pack this would not affect positively your dps since everyone is just insta skill smashing everything at once (while running from mechanics).
