Demonology Talent Changes for 10.1.5 are Awful

I don’t mind changes, but the changes that they are suggesting/have planned are atrocious. There is no thought behind them. Giving X% damage increases is lazy design.
Affliction is suffering from this at the moment. This spec and flow of gameplay/rotation is great the way it is. Demo could definitely use some damage tweaks, but these new nodes… damn man, it’s just sad… really. I’ve really enjoyed Demo the last few tiers and this just feels like we’re breaking up with a hot girlfriend because they are too hot for us.

They still left 4 of their new snoozefest talents in tree. At least they reverted the demonic knowledge change though.

The right side of the tree is now in like a mock-up state for a pre-alpha version of the game. Full of passive mods with zero flavor or interaction with other talents.

This is really making me not want to play the game. How can they think this is necessary?

Whats your argument? if anything, theres going to be less buttons to press with all the passive talents being brought instead. Its the mobility and flow of the spec thats taking a hit. Not the amount of buttons. You must be someone who has trouble making arguments that work.
TLDR: the spec will be less mobile and less fun to play with shadowbolt spam

They really should revert the changes and tune up the classes that actually need help.

this is blizzard we are talking and they don’t think of that sadly.

If they wanted to enable different playstyles, I’d be pretty happy if they added back deci bolt.

So the added 2 talent back buff damage, and ignore the peaks hmmmm. Kinda curious what was exactly the reason for the nerf to dreastalks and core generation. If they were not inteding to somewhat address the peaks also.

Like what was the actual reason for it.

Reading is tough huh?

I said Blizzard’s way (Shadowbolt Spam) is made for people who can only press one button. It was a pre-K level joke.

I, just like everyone here, don’t like the changes and don’t need anyone (especially you) to explain to me how casting SB is less mobile than how we currently play.

All percentiles is useless. So middle of the pack in raiding and bottom of the barrel in M+.

You didnt make the joke clear to me. I’m not english first language either so i guess that was just a misunderstanding.

LOL

Sofan has reached his final form… Epicburness

You now see through my eyes… use this power wisely.

Today, i am going to teach you something about All Percentile, with it, you can see different percentiles at the same time.

Now you can stop saying that All Percentile is useless just because you don’t know how to read it.

All those points are important, They show Maximum performance, Lowest Performance and how on Average people are performing, it also show how high of a deviation some specs can have (with very big gaps between bottom to median or median to top)

I would argue that not everyone is a top-parsing machine, the median is probably the more interesting statistic, as some specs with lower top percentiles are shown with better medians (This can be due to being easier to parse/having lower damage variation on their damage or some other factor)

Also to note, its important to note that as we are quite early in progression, there is quite a big deviation due to some specs only having 1 or 2 registered parses, Frost DK neltharion only having 1 parse (And a god of one) is currently affecting them quite seriosuly in terms of average score.

Too much info on one image. I don’t get it.

@devs can we just go ahead and replace Umbral Blaze with the 4 piece T29… such a big QoL hit when moving on to T30

I didn’t know this thread came with a statistics lesson. :joy:

They don’t know what they’re doing. That’s the reason. The changes they are proposing for demo and affliction don’t make an sense and contradict each other.

“They don’t know what they are doing”

Has been the demo mantra since forever… they just really seem to have no good vision for the spec or never have.
