Demon Hunters are perfect examples of how far class design has fallen

Every 5 minutes even! Well depending on if you are using greater blessings or standard blessings like you would in a smaller group scenario.

Small correction - we didn’t have a program to sim it for us. But training dummies have been in game for a long, long time. And I spent more time in Wrath beating the shizz out of them while capturing data on Recount than I care to admit to.

My only complaint is when you play another class after playing a Demon Hunter.
It makes moving from point A to point B feel bad on most other classes outside of a few longer CDs. It really makes me hate Mage movement to an almost unreasonable degree. Nothing like using Shimmer to double blink and actually not moving forward at all.

Ur a troll looking for attention. You are good at getting it. Just not sure you want to be known as just a troll. this is the way for you to get fame on here.

I guess you cant play the game since men toons want you so bad. You come play the forum game.

Happy trolling

Playing priest in classic made me realize how boring the class was back then

/cast heal
/cast renew

so exciting

this…is kind of true lol.

I do wish the DH rotation had some more to it. I like on other classes I do have to think and do just a bit more.

I mean you can try to add some stuff but yeah…its fluff and not needed. Or its like the basic “gimme” essense. its CD’d so yeah, lemme press it again when it wakes up I guess.

Would not have to be carpel inducing. It could be in the middle like say feral druid or similar charge up mechanics.

My druid setup is four charge ups/builders and mix and match the 2 dots with the monster bite attack. Keeps it somewhat lively.

Livelier than enough to eye beam, dancing blades after then builder/spender for chaos bite 2 button spam.

Why is it always a DK that makes these DH whining threads?

lol, no. Chaosbolt was only an issue on the first patch.

The only thing consistently broken throughout MoP was BM hunter killing people without LoS + their ridiculous and passive self heals; and MW monks spamming healing spheres.

Warlock was pretty balanced.

Post on your DH please so we can have a looksy at just what you have done with your DH.

Of course it doesn’t really matter as everyone has favorite classes and you clearly don’t like DH…although i suspect you haven’t done much with them and this is all just a problem of you not liking the class while a LOT of other people do like it and are enjoying it.

Not chaosbolt, that talent that made them and their demon share damage. Warlocks were way too survivable.

I have no problem with DHs being mind-numbing dumb, but they should pay in their effectiveness for the same reason. Right now, if they press 2 buttons and then use the focusing iris, they dish +90k dps in mythic+ trash pulls, while some casters have to either lose a lot in ST to strengthen their AoE options, or have to juggle AoE and ST rotations to make their damage semi-viable. Double the effort, half the result.

Furthermore, leech is absurd, especially with Meta uptime. Hard-hitting offensives with baked-in defensive skills… That makes DH a pure DPS class with better self healing than hybrids and avoidance mechanics than rogues/mages, and much lower skill ceiling and floor.

And this all is not making mention of the fact they are the most mobile spec in the game. And the only one to have mana burn in PvP.

The grass is always greener and is exactly how classes should feel… paper should be jealous of scissors while thinking rock has it rough.

Strengths and weaknesses… how long would it take a DH to get to a capital city vs a mage… what about things that can be kited/ranged down that demon hunters cant deal with?

Yep.

“Hmmm… what controversial topic thread can I make today?
Oh! I know :bulb:”

As long as they’re getting bites, this will continue as their daily routine until they get bored.

Oh well.

Didn’t BM hunters still have the monkey stun from Cata in MoP?
And you would just have 5 Monkey pets and rotate them out whilst their 45s stun cd was recharging? That stuff was funny.

DPS DH’s are easy kills.

I think its absolutely laughable.

Even after all of the pruning, my druid has 4~ action bars/trays onscreen. All of them are full and I have no room for new abilities or items or anything on my hotbars.

The demon hunter I used to play (and have since deleted because its a terrible class) could fit all of her abilities on one action bar with no extra trays needed.

This needs to happen to a few of the specs, it make no sense to have 3 levels of the same spell, take summoner for instance…
As for WoW complexity for the sake of it is not good game design either, I personally like a fast playstyle with not too many buttons think legion Affliction lock, always something to do without waiting on cd’s, even on this now there is periods where I am looking at everything waiting for something to come off, what they need is engaging play style not necessarily a complex one requiring many keys, I mean historically when we had heaps what happened? people created macros so there is less to push…
The pruned to hard and then put to much on the GCD, so we “feel” gimped and bored, rather than speed up the playstyle with less which would have felt much better.
IMO

Over-emphasis on superficial rotations over toolkit is what killed class design in the long run.

But specifically, when it comes to demon hunters, the reason why they’re kinda boring is because they just don’t really have a gimmick specific to themselves. Sure they can fly. They also have a lot of mobility, but so do monks. Demon Hunters constantly talk about how they’ve “sacrificed everything”, and they’re constantly fueling themselves with demonic energies. I would have liked if the demon hunter’s general gimmick compared to other classes was this Sacrifice, you could sacrifice something in order to gain something else, and this constant risk-reward gameplay would make them more engaging for me.

I recently made BM too! It does seem easier in some respect to boss fights but actually optimising mob dps is something we need to keep track of. Murder of crows with bleeds on atleast 3 mobs is ideal but ‘muh easy class’.
