VDH was suprisingly fun, the complete lack of any tanking spot in a world with Brewmasters and Prots and BDKS and Bears and anything else… Less so. Also the spec doesn’t work underwater or in aqua. Which you know… is KINDA really great when SOTS and Ep has underwater portions to do literally no spirit bomb dps and have all your spirit shards instantly sucked into you. Otherwise it’s pretty fun, the double heroic jumps is by far my most favorite movement ability of all mdps specs so far. So much mobility, wall climbing and fun… Shame it’s a tank exclusive. Feels 500% better than fel rush.

Because Blizzard introduced DH as an easy class with that concept in mind. Paladin has always existed, since Vanilla. Adding Demon Hunters goes with the past expansions (WoD, Legion, BFA) it all follows the same trend of dumbing down classes. You can’t fault someone for playing a Class that has exited from the beginning, but if you main a class that is released when they’re trying to dumb down the game for grandpa to play thats a different story.

I speak for most of the RP community when I say: please stop catering to raiders! 8.3 is being delayed and we can’t level our floofy vulperas because raiders would’ve had the suspenseful choice of choosing between raiding and spending time with their families! All of our class changes have been almost solely focused on raiding. There hasn’t been PvP tuning in over a YEAR. Do we even have a single PvP dev? Why is it okay to neglect some parts of the game like PvP and RP, but all hell breaks loo…

It funny because the DPS variance between the top DHs and the worst DHs is similar to every other class aside from spriest.

I can second that it’s actually pretty easy to play… but it’s actually a pretty fun job.

• Dualcast resulting in a fun one-two combo… as a caster. Also adds a surprisingly large amount of mobility and doesn’t feel like a turret.
• The most common procs provide access to slightly stronger starter spells.
• Having to manage the black/white mana gauge, while pretty simple, has you switching up which spells you use regularly… actually, pretty much constantly. You rarely do the same 1-2 combo of spells twice in a row.
• And let us not forget the fun and flashy melee combo into the spell burst abilities. Dash in, 3-hit enhanced melee combo, flip out (or that other one which does damage but keeps you in close), single target finisher, and finally the big AoE burst… and Fleche for good measure (because I like it).

Probably the strangest thing is that WoW would cut the number of spells Red Mage uses in half (if not more) simply because they’re duplicates with different elements. But thanks to the history of the job (always had access to more than one school of magic) and the dual gauges for resources and needing to work on both of them at the same time… FFXIV adds a lot of variety (and fun) to what is otherwise a very simple job.

The ‘top’ 85% of mages, shamans, and hunters in lfg don’t even have a lust / tw / hero keybound… ignore all mechanics and stand in fire. While the other 2% treats wow like a job with rocket physisics off their day job analysing every pre pot and simming, we didn’t have simming like 10 years ago, it was all ilvl and gearscore.

Ret has always been easy. Paladins in general have always been easy.

Age has nothing to do with it. It doesn’t matter when you started, people pick up and put down classes all the time. If it was “too easy” you would just put it down and play something else.
