WoW is an entire game of pointless busywork lol.
Yeah as I said above asking Blizzard to do your pug vetting has never been the reasonable request.
Blizzard doesn’t need to do the community’s gatekeeping for them. They have that job in hand.
Why not though? People clearly are terrible at it. Doesn’t seem that hard of a problem to fix…
If the solution is not working can always roll it back.
No, WOW is fun when you get to play what you want to play. And don’t need to do X Y and Z just to gain access.
How is it a problem for anyone but them?
People are also terrible at impulse control which is why they become “forced” to do content like delves.
But I don’t think Blizzard needs to handle that for them either. Which is why I would argue against delve reward nerfs.
If everyone does X, and you don’t, finding groups will be difficult.
It’s not. You can fix problems or be in support of fixing problems that don’t just affect you.
Who is saying Delves reward too much? A couple people on the forums trolling on alts? They are fine. Personally, I’d rather run +4’s and above for crest. I only did Delves for the rep bonus once M+ came out.
Getting one piece of weekly hero vault gear and the very small chance of getting an extra chest is not a big deal.
You sure can!
However when suggestions to those problems would affect you you’re also free to say “Perhaps there are better options. Perhaps the cure is worse than the illness.”
Most of the suggestions I see in here I would put in that category.
Again, you could still do w/e content you want with your friends or run your own key freely.
This would only impact people signing up for keys in the LFG tool that aren’t qualified and aren’t getting invites anyways, or when they do get an invite the key goes horribly wrong for everyone involved because they don’t know the dungeon.
Make achieves account wide and it would have zero negative impact on 99% of the playerbase that grinds through the M+ ladder as intended.
It’s like people screaming that Blizzard is holding a gun to their head but then you zoom out and it’s actually just them holding the gun themselves.
I remember raid loggers complaining about having to clear the entire map of WQ in Legion and spamming Maw of Souls for AP. This is not a delve issue. The issue is that some people will optimize the fun out of everything.
It’s the meme. I can’t remember what it’s called.
The one where the guy puts up cardboard monsters and cardboard fire, then puts a blanket up, then lays in the fetal position and becomes the victim of their own fake shadow monsters.
It’s a “if the content is at all rewarding and it’s not MY CONTENT then I won’t settle for it” issue.
And we no longer have AP.
Give it time, delves will probably become irrelevant, and we’ll have Visions as a mainstay.
Thing about visions: You can’t get max ilvl early on.
Sure, which is why I made sure my solution would have zero impact or annoyance to the majority of the playerbase.
Most everyone does their M0s during M0 week anyways, and I’m not suggesting “locking” anyone out of content. If someone has a friend that wants to play and do a +7 but they haven’t done the dungeon on +5 you could still invite them, they just can’t queue through the LFG tool.
Pretty sure most people pug their keys, and this would be unwanted busywork. And we’ll have whispers, just to invite people (and relist, I guess.)
Makes everything needlessly complicated, solves nothing.
The WoW community in a nutshell lol
My guild and I stopped doing delves months ago because we just weren’t having fun doing them anymore, and we aren’t worse for it. Maybe running delves improves our clear rate by 3%, but also, who really cares? We’re having fun doing it how we want to, and we are completely unphased by how others choose to gear.
People would have infinitely more fun with this game if they stopped concerning themselves with other avenues of gearing and instead playing the content they want to lmao
I’m highly grateful that I moved on from letting anyone but myself influence how I play the game. I wouldn’t still be playing if I didn’t.
Delves created more rewards balance problems that we already had with M+ vs Raid vs PvP.
- Delve reward vs difficulty is out of line
- the rate of gear acquisition beats M+ for the average player
- Progress through delve tiers quickly
- No time spent forming group
- Guaranteed loot each time
- it adds to the problem of do everything = gear up faster
I think delve keys are good and all endgame pillars should be timegated with them, so you get your guaranteed X pieces of loot each week and can’t get any more. Some sort of partial catch-up for alts or players joining the season late. No loot trading.
How would it be unwanted busywork? Most people grind their way up the ladder anyways and aren’t just doing a +7 as the first time seeing a dungeon. It’s actually insane you think this behavior is normal.
For the vast majority of the playerbase, even those who pug, adding in checkpoints that prevent you from queueing for dungeons would not impact their play in any way whatsoever.
Who is even inviting the dude who queues for a +7 that has never done the dungeon on any difficulty on any character? Foolish people that end up with bricked keys who complain on the forums.
If anything this would also help with all the ridiculous threads where people complain about not getting invites.
