Delves being “too rewarding” is not a problem created by delve players

So why turn WOW into diablo 4 2.0?

Then you should go play destiny 2, where you can hit max power by doing your 3 normal playlist activities, and not a game which has been rewards driven for difficult content for 20 years now.

It’s not, I want wow to let me slowly upgrade my gear, grinding quests and not have seasons.

Sounds like, you’re better off not playing WOW than trying to change WOW into something completely different.

I have been playing wow since BC they like my $. So long as they make things I enjoy I will continue.

Wow, is fine how it is. except M+ kinda sucks. I don’t want it changed to be a ‘difficult’ game.

So, nothing needs to change cause you’re still playing anyway and what you envision is drastically different from current game and likely changes in the future?

Nope. +12 Ara-Kara, Guardian Druid, 2 ret pallies, a monk and I think it was a Warlock. Druid even died after pulling a ton of trash and the dps went right on through without trouble while he ran back.

I mean do we really call dungeons difficult when the whole strategy is “pull all the trash to the boss and AoE it all down together”. Something in the difficulty is definitely off in M+.

So it’s not about maxing out your gear at all, because plenty of bis pieces came from raids.

I never said any of that. I said they should keep gearing the same or even better for delves.

Then you won’t get BIS for doing trivial content.

And shouldn’t.

Delves represent an anomaly just like LFR.

Did this thread decide if delves are good or bad yet?

They are AMAZING

Thankfully it isn’t up to this thread. And they are good.

Finally, we figured it out.

Admins, please lock thread.

No but I think we are starting to figure out that M+ is way too easy for the gear it offers.

Except m+ isn’t defined by the easiest parts, but by the hardest.

First boss, and Last Boss are kinda difficult.

Could be man. If a guy like me can do T8s and +7s without needing to buy a carry to move between then +7s are probably too easy for what they reward.

Something something forced to do them something everyone else is bad.

m+ is too easy, just like delves, when compare them to raids.

I honestly think M+ should get AI tanks. the other four are people, but the tank can be AI and it will just tank damage. Interrupts will be for the rest of the group, and the route will be set by Blizz. People could opts to play as a tank, but it would be setup to be doable by AI. This clears out the tank shortage and gives people something to scream at that isn’t a human. Nothing will ever be their fault, it’s always ‘the stupid AI’. It would help a lot.

Badges and rep have never been the source of the best gear, at least not more than a piece or two or a legendary quest item that everyone got access to. There were some pieces that might be BIS for a given spec, but it was never something that you could gear your entire character with. And that was only for one expansion.

If you want to advocate that time should grant access to some of the best gear, that’s fine, we can have the discussion. But that has never been the case in WoW’s history; it always required completing some amount of high level group content.

This isn’t apples to apples because crest cost to upgrade matters as well. A 3 will get you hero track out of vault, but only at 610. Whereas a T8 delve will give you a 616 hero item, saving you 30 crests. Also, the end of dungeon out of a 3 is 597 compared to the 603 from the T8 bountiful chest, which is another 30 crest savings. Not to mention the chance at a map to get a 610 hero item as a drop at the end of a delve, something you don’t get until a +7 key.

  1. There is no guarantee of a competent group unless it’s a full premade, even with the best IO appearance.
  2. While rare, there are times when someone might have a technical or RL issue that forces them to bail. This is more likely when there are 4 other people you rely on versus just yourself.
  3. The time commitment is also relevant here. It isn’t just how mechanically difficult is it to get through a +4 or T8. A +4, if everyone in the group would benefit from the gear it drops, is going to take you 20 - 30 minutes, not to mention group formation time. A solo T8 delve can be completed in 10 minutes for a lot of spec, even once the gear is helpful to them.

First, a lot of those “no-healer runs” involve a massive first pull with all cooldowns up before the actual healer zones out and respecs for the rest of the dungeon. Raider.io only captures what the specs were at the start of the key.

Second, being able to complete something doesn’t mean it isn’t difficult. How much coordination and what percentile of play do you think it took that group to be able to time that key without a healer?

Third, and more importantly, nearly all of those groups are top 100 players running a key that is much lower than what they are capable of running. A +10 is unfathomably hard for a lot of players; but to a group that’s going to time a +18 later this week, they can nearly faceroll through it to success.
