I’ve should have elaborated more. The rewards are TOO HIGH. I would rather have Delve 7 through 8s give Veteran track gear at a minimum of T4 so that way the player can enter Mythic 2s or 3s.
But Champion Track gear? Its a huge choke and basically a free ticket to Mythic 5s and up. Imagine a new player being given a huge gun with little-to-no experience. It doesn’t work.
The way I see it is that delves don’t have a high end in the grand scheme of WoW’s content tracks. Only a low and a middle, and their middle is easier than the other middles.
There are people that want a higher end for solo content, delves cant provide that whilst still being delves. So Blizzard are looking towards something else to be that thing.
I would say that’s not because delves are tuned to be hard, it’s because delves past 8 are a completely untuned wilderness. Delves being role agnostic already means that, without an extreme amount of work from developers, they’re never going to be able to be tuned in a way that leads them to be a challenge.
No one that’s solely doing Delves is going into M+. And this is still no different than previous seasons where people geared up in other content with weeklies and LFR maxed out gear and world boss gear who ran higher keys.
As someone who went out of their comfort zone and did KSM for 3 of the 4 seasons in Dragonflight (family stuff put a kink in the 4th), I actually think tier 11 delves solo are significantly harder than the M+ that drop hero track/myth in vault lol. And tbh, harder than the heroic raid bosses I did in DF.
I did one tier 11 delve and it was not fun. Lol.
A lot of people ignore the fact in M+ and Raids, you have 4-29 people to pick up slack if you are not playing 100%. In a solo delve, you do not. If you die, you die. If you make a mistake and forget a defensive, you die. And you have limited lives if you want full rewards. I think tier 11 gets like 2 lives? And in tier 11 there are one shot mechanics that you HAVE to defensive.
Delves shouldn’t be considered endgame at their current difficulty. They’re easy af, especially with several having mechanics to use to wipe out entire packs in seconds by positioning them right. They should be a way for anyone, solo or not, to practice mechanics and rotations and get into actual endgame content.
So the argument here is, as stated many times before, why do solo players need champion grade gear to do solo content? That gets tremendously boring and fast.
I’ve been running T10s for a hot minute for the Bountifuls. But then again, My pally and druid dominate the content I ACTUALLY do at 605 ilvl… so makes little difference to me. I can just have some stuff crafted and then upgrade it if it is needed.
Nah quite opposite delvers are complaining because they can’t have mythic track gear for having social anxiety and not being able to group for harder content.
