I have a level 60 character I want to do delete on wow classic but I want the name again for WoW TBCC.
Some people are saying In can delete the character and reuse the name immediately. Some people are saying its 30 days.
My friend had a dead level 31 deleted it, and then took its name immediately without any delay. However someone else told me that level 60 characters are different.
What’s the truth here?
Can I just delete my character on prepatch and then use the name again immediately on my same account like my friend’s level 31 experiment?
Or do I have to delete the character to reuse its name in 30 days because it’s level 60(with raid achievements)?
If it’s on your Battle.net account, you’ll have access to it immediately.
Note, Classic does not have a rename option, you’ll be unable to restore the deleted character as long as the naming conflict exists.

Thanks. How would I fix the name conflict on the deleted character if I were ever want to restore it? I doubt I ever would but just out of curiosity.
If you are referring to Classic, then you would need to delete the character with the conflicting name (unless at some point they add a paid name change for Classic too, at which point you would pay for a name change on the conflicting toon).

And, to note, the paid name change was implemented late in the TBC cycle originally so they may have them available at some point in the next few years.
