Delete bnet account verification

you all just used to text my phone wiht a code to prove
it was me then that would confirm it was my account
and proceed with deleting my bnet account on my older account.

now you ask stupid questions which i have no answers for and tell me “invalid request” with information request such as:

  • physical authenticator serial #
  • creation of linked wow account
  • bank transaction # of first wow purchase

stuff like that

i provide my name, email address, phone #, credit card info,
everything pertinent to the account and get : “we can’t verify this is your account”

is this just some elaborate scheme to keep people from deleting their bnet account, hoping they’ll come back in the future?

a month ago it was just a text to our phones,
now it’s 6 questions that are largely unanswerable.

im only reading a blue response, not trolls.

edit - i keep answering tickets, and all i get is copy & pastes from GMs who send me the same link to the same page that asks me a different set of the same 3-6 unanswerable questions or 2-3 questions i can answer that have the same null result.

There just trying to make sure u who u say u are not a jilted lover ex roomate etc thats also why theres a 30day grace period from when its started in case of changing your mind because once its finished its wiped clean and unreversable.

nope, a month ago they only asked for a code to be sent to my celphone and that was that . now it’s a huge set of questions that i don’t have answers for .

if they dont do it then i’ll go in game and just violate the TOS until they permaban me

You can also go for the simpler method of changing your password to a long string of gibberish, not writing it down and deleting the authenticator to prevent recovery.

Why go through the lengths of supposedly deleting “your” BNET that you can’t prove is yours or even worse, break the game rules on purpose?

Deleting a Battlenet account means deleting every license and purchase made under an email. It is quite difficult on purpose because it can’t be recovered if completed. It means the account holder loses access to everything they ever had on that Battlenet. Every license, every character, ever achievement, every pet/mount/purchase ever.

There are no “Battlenets on accounts”. Every game licence is under a battlenet account.

Are you trying to remove an old WoW game license from a Battlenet account? If so you can only remove old starter editions. If you are trying to transfer or move a license, that can no longer be done.

Are you replying to an email? IF so those are DO NOT REPLY emails. You have to re-open the ticket if you can, or open a new one and reference the first ticket number. Then answer the questions as best you can. You don’t need everything, just enough that they know you are the registered account holder.

Unwise, Anarrayice.

You currently have one open, and I see a number of attempts that are actually in processing. Swamping the submit button won’t make this happen any quicker.

We have zero issues with this type of request as long as you realize once it is processed it is permanent and irreversible.

Edit: As to why it may be asking for more, not sure - but it could be related to the incredible number of times you’ve asked for this in the past then cancelled the request.

But, i think the original issue you had, was fixed. You should now be able to restore your deleted character.

Unfortunately it was not fixed in your given timeline, but it should be working now anyway.

No, this is an elaborate scheme to prevent somebody else from deleting your account.

Or the even simpler method of, you know… just not logging in at all.

I understand your frustration. I’ve had it many a time myself. But lets pause, rewind a moment here and remember something fundamental here. Vrakthris and Orlyia are human like the rest of us. They aren’t peons to be ordered around, nor are they your personal fixers. They work a very tough job.

For that reason, I humbly would point out that blowing a gasket or saying such things, isn’t going to get your issue resolved any quicker. I believe something has been happening internally the last few days, as there have been many strange errors, such as the 404 Support error. Also I doubt seriously that it is a malign scheme as you say.

So please, partially for your blood pressure and partially to reduce forum temperatures… be patient. I am sure if they can help you they will. There may be unexpected bumps or disappointments, but I can say at least in my dealings with Vrak and Orlyia, both have always been professional. So please be considerate to your fellow humans in turn. It’ll make for a far merrier world friend. I am not saying this in any way to make slight of your frustrations or to ‘flame’ you. I am trying to speak candidly of the situation.

Anger that is misplaced will solve nothing in my experience. It’s going to work out. It may take time, but it’ll be resolved.
