Delete 100% of everyone's gold for TBC

He dropped out of Harvard. After two years, to work on a project that had immense potential and obviously it worked out.

He (and pretty much any other well known and successful, “drop outs”) pretty much universally suggests not doing that though.

Literally no lawyer would take the case, and that’s ignoring Blizzard’s own legal team.

Also, the “#nochanges” movement died literally before launch. Blizzard made changes to the game out of necessity, and that automatically killed the movement, no matter how loud they tried to be.

There’ve been nothing but some pretty noticeable changes in Classic out of necessity.

Oh I laughed so hard I read it to my friend who is an actual lawyer and he said something to the tune of “sounds like every ignorant internet lawyer out there”

At least we got a good laugh out of it

It’s a shame blizzard tried to cater to them after launch…

Well, they didn’t really cater to them. But making as few changes as possible was the best approach - no changes at all wouldn’t work (given the client difference), but changes without attempts otherwise would be bad.

Overall, Classic worked as well as it could.

Why should I bother. When ever I see this people usually are just looking for a fight.

Blizzard comes here too. It saves them so much money to come here for legal advice instead of paying for legal representation

…legal problems? What are you smoking?

They have zero liability if they turned off every server tomorrow.

Stay away from topics you know nothing about layman.

He thinks Blizzard jokingly saying that some of the devs thinking of it like a museum piece is a legally binding contract.

Wow, it’s pretty extreme for you to suggest he stop posting on the forum.

I’d love to hear his attempt at proving up promissory estoppel…

Sometimes a swift and harsh punishment is required!

People want to keep the gold they have because:

  1. It is a number they can see.
  2. It is a number they want to see.
  3. It makes them happy to see that number.
  4. It is already their gold, and it has a number, like a name.
  5. It’s gold.

See. There is five already.

It took them time to earn it, and they want to keep it for future gold sinks, the ability to purchase what they need, and a comfortable cushion just in case.

I don’t Raid hardcore. I, mostly, Quest. I don’t farm too much. I’m extremely Casual. I don’t buy too much from the AH. I’m selective when purchasing my abilities, and I have more Gold than this. What the heck are you buying?

If they do fresh the choke points for leveling blacksmithing/JC will be AWFUL. i’d be beyond pissed trying to fight thousands of other people for 50 iron nodes. At this point the gold is there. Simple fix would be to bring tokens to TBC or add a big gold sink item.

No. They won’t do that.

Attacking a straw man. I said nothing about turning the servers off.

I didn’t say you did, I presented an even more extreme scenario that would produce zero liability to show that a much less severe situation would also fail to produce liability.

You have zero legal recourse if Blizzard force upgrades every current Classic server to TBC, leaves zero Vanilla-only content options, and says nothing else about it.

TBC servers should be fresh, no transfers. Let people free boost to 58 one time. This will eliminate sheet gold and all that bot gold
