Potentially everyone commenting here including me is “evil”, it just depends on whose definition you’re using as a frame of reference. And that is my point, there are many frames of reference, too many even.
Female Gnomes used to be the prettiest race in the game.
Vulpera are good looking as well. You just do not like them.

I disagree. I see morality as a sort of relative consensus. His will does not somehow go over the will of everyone else just because he’s super messed up.

When I was younger, I was seriously considering becoming an FBI profiler and I learned a lot about those monsters, but life took a different direction. There is a show called Most Evil by a Forensic Psychiatrist who categorizes the acts of various serial killers on a chart between 1 and 22 with 22 being the most evil.
I think the show is very educational for those interested in the subject. He gives a sound definition of evil. The intentional infliction of pain upon another. Key word intentional.
Profilers who go after those monsters are my heroes, as they go after the truly evil.

I mean, DnD in the most basic terms simply says Evil : Selfish / Good : Selfless.
Makes the most sense. Defining morality is weird, as most people would fall under being evil.

It’s relative. A great man is a great man, he will be seen as a hero by some and a villain by others.

This fails if there is now pain however. What do you call someone who steals from you? There is no pain there but clearly that is evil.
Will encompass any sort of evil you struggle to define a reason why. The monster who inflicts pain would not tolerate that treatment and would be quite offended to find themselves on the other end, for example.
I don’t know about you, but if someone stole something from me, it would cause me pain. Not all pain is physical. There is also emotional pain. Messing with a persons mind, malicious manipulation, lying to someone to cause them sadness. etc. all cause pain.
Suppose malice was intended, but what they stole wasn’t very important to you. Does that make it not evil?
