It was the same for Old Republic. Those flashpoints are still horrid to run without tanks or healers.
Worse yet, they created an entirely new flashpoint and it’s unbeatable without a tank and healer. That was brilliant of them.

Just remove the multiplayer aspect and throw you in with 29 bots. Not like much will change. If anything you clear it faster.
Warning, guild name in conflict with player.
Please, expecting rational behavior from today’s gamers is a recipe for bankruptcy, just as much as the drive to monetize every single keypress by so-called AAA game developers is.
Oh, that will work out SOOO well in LFR. Boss needs to be faced away from the raid for a cleave mechanic? Not while it’s jumping around like a ping pong ball from all the dps “taunting” it and/or getting aggro. Everyone gets cleave to the face!
Who doesn’t like cleave to the face?
I have been in LFR where both tanks died early and the boss was killed fine without them. Not really sure they are needed on most fights.
/facepalm So you don’t think every queue pop resulting in utter failure would encourage people not to queue up?
So you want people to 25 DPS LFR for several months punishing every player in the raid? I guess those massive repair bills to kill a single boss would be worth it. Oh also so you know those ilvl 415 DPS who do it for achieves or mogs, I don’t think any of us would touch it with a stick.
If by chance it doesn’t get people to play tank, then Blizzard can always adjust LFR to not require tanks or allow 5 extra DPS players making it a 30 players run if there is no tank in the group. But with the instant queue everyone would get, people would be more forgiving.
Tbh they just need to get rid of lfr, it’s full of people afking or sandbags getting carried by 2-5 people making it takes 10x longer to complete.
The only reason I ever torture my self by doing it is if there’s a mount involved ie mekka mount which you now need to kill jaina for but if 75% of the people are afk and the others are doing like 2k dps it’s not worth the effort/time.
Should get compensated for actually contributing to the completion of the instance and punished for doing nothing that would essentially give you nothing for completing it.
It’s an idiotic system and I admit there are a ton of sandbags in this game that can’t make it past heroic raids but this isn’t experiencing the content in my opinion. Casuals today are spoiled, entitled and expect to do literally nothing and get something in return “like real life”.
Also it wouldn’t make people reroll tank or healer as people usually suck in those rolls anyway and most want to dps and want to be at the top of the dmg meter.
Just do island expeditions. Problem solved.
Or you know you could que as a tank or heal then
No thanks.
Something needs to be done though, up to 20 minute queue times for Timewalking as fury and less than one minute as prot.
The problem is…the dps queue could pop sooner so it’s like…do i queue then run around do a chore and come back 20 minutes later, chances are it popped sooner and have to wait yet again.
If there was an app that told us the queue popped or something we could click enter dungeon while letting dog out and some auto response…saying…letting dog out, don’t kick, i waited 20 minutes. (only to carry lowbies)
roll prot, you’ll get in faster. most people play dps because tanking and healing is either boring or irritating with how incompetent other players are which is why people want to play dps.
I’m actually amazed by your comprehension skills, or rather the lack of. Where did you pull the supposed support for your points? Your bum?
The MMO genre is alive and well, as is WoW. The latter’s falling subs is mostly due to an over-saturation of the MMO market, as compared to the early years of WoW when there were little to no other competitors.
I also fail to see what suddenly makes you an expert, seeing as you’ve done little to no content in WoW, relevant or not.
Where is your proof of this? There are now more MMOs than ever before, certainly a lot more than during WoW’s peak. There’s literally 1-2 potential “top” MMO releases every year now, with even more coming out of Asia. Players are spoiled for choice, but simply don’t have enough time to commit to more than 1-2 MMOs since the very nature of the genre is time-consuming and grindy.
Did you even play GW2? And if you did, did you even do any of the end-game content, before the implementation of raids? I have, both before and after. And I can honestly tell you, balancing had been a huge issue without the trinity system before, something that players have noted and the devs as well numerous times in their public blogs/AMAs (GW2’s dev team has always been on the ball on explaining their developer decisions, and the introduction of the trinity system was one of them explained).
Simply put, it’s incredibly hard or nearly impossible to create and balance a compelling fight, if boss damage isn’t harsh enough that you need neither tank nor healers. Compensating for the lack of tank and healers meant that encounters either had to be incredibly punishing to double down on the dodge mechanic (which eventually made fights too hard for the majority of the playerbase), or too lenient and low (which made fights too easy and unfun with low replayability). There was no in-between.
And if a team of experienced developers who’s been working on the franchise for decades since GW1 couldn’t find a way to do it, I’d like to see you try. Honestly I would, because none of your or any of the other posters here supporting this dumpster fire has yet to actually describe how it would fit in WoW, or how they would address and rebalance the ramifications of removing two core roles that have been present since the start of WoW. Like for example, screw tank and healer mains right?
“The MMO genre is alive and well”
Well I didn’t read past this point in your post because it is clear you don’t know what you’re talking about. Way to invalidate your post right off the bat lol!
