Agreed on all counts. I’m also not interested in playing either, but they are obviously popular choices. Like some others here though, I wouldn’t mind creating a Saberon character.
…and the addition of them as an Alliance race would have the benefit of further driving the furry haters absolutely bonkers. Yes, I am bad.
no? Ive already said races that are more popular. High elves and broken most certainly for alliance. I won’t count wildhammer since they are being added as customization for base dwarves.
Other races more highly requested would be ogres, san’layn, and sethrak.
First off…Nightborne are terrible. They should have the npc appearance NOT an alliance race/night elves. uggg
The Horde wasn’t favored with Vulpera. Kultirans were created from the ground up, a completely new race. Just because some alliance players don’t like so called ‘ugly’ races doesn’t mean they weren’t given a new race made with more effort than the Horde was given.
We have absolutely no indication what the next allied races will be or even if they will happen. So please…‘it looks like’ is based on no evidence.
You never said that…
As for them, Void elves and Lightforged have already taken there place as allied races even though they would be very popular, Blizzard just won’t do it. And I am sure I don’t need to explain why San’lan and Ogres would not work.
except they have taken the place of any allied races. You don’t speak for blizzard. It is evident they are stretched on dev resources as is. I don’t blame them for not pumping out allied races every patch.
We will have all of these requested races in time. Blizzard has already stated the pre planned races are done and have been released so they would be looking at fan requests for allied races in the future.
Regardless of which new races they are making be it their lores or racial traits, i believe blizzard should always put huge emphasis on transmog items of the race. Recent example is the introduction of the mechagnomes. These guys suck in the transmog department. You will find majority of the fans complain about their mogs as is evident in the forum threads and posts. Hardly anyone complain about their racial traits or mogs
Calling a NPC model a completely new masterpiece is like taking a kitten off the street and giving it to the bad guys faction and then whapping a random drug addicted homeless man off the street and calling it a day. Sure the disordered twisted yellow teeth man might have more detailed belly bulges and body odor, but that doesn’t make people want to play one or get ‘masterpieces’ of laborously drawn ugly art vs sweet and adorable.
Agreed. And I’m even saying that as a die-hard Horde player who LOVES Arakkoa and wants to see them playable more than anything.
There’s no way the Arakkoa would go Horde. The OG Horde on Outland betrayed them and were responsible for the destruction of their homeland. They hate orcs! The OU Arakkoa have a much better relationship with the Alliance, and I can’t remember where I heard it, but I’m pretty sure that the AU Arakkoa were canonically assisted by the Alliance, not the Horde.
Worgen with tails and alpha model character customization returning. Don’t really need to compensate much with Vulpera. I am horde, but speaking from an alliance point of view.
It is a fact that Kultirans had more effort and work put into them than all the other allied races combined. Just because you personally don’t like them doesn’t change the facts.
Give us Stone giants/golems(whatever their names are, i forgot)like the ones in Deepholme and give the horde hozens. I think they may want another thin lanky race like the blood elfs.lol
Allied races were designed to piggyback off of npcs first and foremost. Kul tirans being used In Drustvar, Stormsong valley, and ForgettableLand doesn’t really make up for the fact that none of the distinct races got used. (Wickermen, wickerwolves, drust, drustvar, or discount cthulumen or water elemental mounts. )
I just don’t see all this argue of "but it’s a unique model’. I bought a unique model of a fantasy creature and it has a rig and it still ended up cheaper and the maker was even as to go far as to be polite and give complete textures and fully bendable poses and rigging for it or 3d print it if i want. It doesn’t matter if the modelers put in time if the person commissioning the design basically went “Oh make it look like a potato and fat lol”. As for payoffs, i don’t care if a kitty cat mwuffs and chases balls and wags it’s tail if it shared a bunny skeleton, it’s not as if they’re a giant game dev with qa that could say, hire someone or host a easily generated surveymonkey link to ask and poll what the most popular allied race could be.
Or spend the dedicated 5 minutes osrs only needs to create a 11-13 question polls like say. (Would you be interested in a worgen class with tails), (What kind of allied races would you be most interested in, select all that apply), (Do you wish to see muscles, lean, Indiana Jones, JOJO steroid men, Shrek body people, or balding men who eat eachother in a fantasy game?)
Really, a lot of rather quite minimal effort or polling could go quite a way further. Yes yes you can argue all you want over how many hours you spent on a piece. But in the end a well made and well loved piece will tend to shine more than a laborously hated and half efforted one.
