Day Night Cycle Thread Capped

I’ve seen boralus in daylight, there really isn’t much difference, and i play on a 2080rtx, on a 2k IPS monitor.

Same goes for Dazar’alor. Doesn’t make that much difference. Voldun looks better at night imo, most other zones there isn’t enough difference for me to notice unless I’m really searching for it.

I’ve made numerous posts to the GD to draw attention to the CMs ignoring us here. I’m not happy about that.

I can’t believe you get this butthurt over a joke mocking weebery.

He plays FF 14 LOL what a weeb

FF 14 has

Better crafting.

Better classes.

Better graphics.

Better music.

Better classes and specs that havent been pruned to death.

Better gameplay.

My summoner still doesnt have all her spells and she has more utility than a warlock does at 120.

The chocobo not only flies, but is a combat mount and a combat companion**, can HEAL you**, has its own talent tree.

A teleport system which can get you anywhere at the click of a mouse button. Very little time wasted in travel.

Your bard can play their own music that they can compose, and they can perform it in public.

Alchemy not only has heals, but can also make potions that stun, blind, daze your enemies…oh yeah did I mention daze?

Doesnt happen in FF 14. You cant be dazed off your mount.

A FATE system that can and does sync to your level at wish.

Non time gated flight.

Doesnt have a launcher that took five years to add an appear offline system they said “couldnt be done:” but could always have been done, they just didnt want to.

A dev team that works to add new things to the game all the time…not a list of what has been removed or will be removed.

The FF 14 devs listen to their players…which is more than Blizzard ever has or will.

So my very serious question to you is, why the hell would the majority of the Oceanic playerbase waste their time posting in what they see as a dead, silent, ignored forum? A quick and easy search of the forum shows you exactly how bad Blizzard’s communication is with their Oceanic playerbase

Just give us an option to turn on daylight mode.

and this

Please carry on giving your thoughts on this. As always, we’ll be monitoring the situation

We did.

Two years eight months later and…where are we again? Answer: were we were in 2016.

Thats the reason i quit WOW and will never be back.

Tweets, emails, tickets, forum posts, Q and A questions posted REPEATEDLY, threads…you name it.

Silence.

I aint a 'weeb" mate…I am however one of many ex WOW players who have found that FF 14 can offer what Blizzard cant.

Voted with my wallet.

The fact that this issue remains unanswered for close to three years speaks for itself.

This is half true. Enemy’s can still dismount you, and instead of dazed they apply slow when getting hit.

Applyimg slow isnt being dazed off your mount.

As for being dismounted…hasnt happened yet.

That is why I said half true.

It can happen.
hhttps://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Category:Mount
remove first “h” for link.

Hasnt happened to me yet. Died a few times when I blundered into a max level enemy area.

Arcagnion said he would drop in every few months. Then disappeared.

Takralus doesnt post here.

None of the other CMs post here yet they have time for fluff posts.

We can say what we like, really, not as if any of it will make a difference. This entire conversation will eventually drop off the front page.

Net effect: zero.

Another reason I left was simply because I realised I was bashing my head against a brick wall. On numerous occasions I posted questions directly to CMs and then watched as they answered others.…and ignored mine.

“There arent enough of you” is a cop out…doesnt matter if its 100 customers or 100000, you treat them the same, they are still paying customers. You dont ignore them. Our issues are as valid as any other.

Calendar isnt fixed either.

I live in Aust…and as far as I am aware, any ingame calendar I have seen makes allowances to display event times in local time…not US. 17 hour time difference, remember?

They say that when you are dissatisfied, you vote with your wallet…so I did.

11 days left on my sub.

Others have followed suit…all because Blizzard still cant or wont communicate with its customers and thinks that saying nothing is a solution.

Silence.

Feeds.

The.

Fire.

So you played wow for years and never learnt how to move around mobs in a way that you can aggro them but still have enough distance so that they won’t catch up and daze you… rip.

Oh I have and I did…I moved my money to a game that doesnt rely on daze to make you kill worthless useless mobs that drop grey trash to make travel take longer.

You do know what a speedbump is dont you?

See…I dont need to worry about daze. I have instant one click transport.

Attune aetheryte - click - arrive. No daze no mobs. But whatever…you can stay in WOW as you choose. Ill be in a modern MMO.

One that has a rotating day night cycle not tied to a US timezone.

Instant gratification is the trademark of modern MMO’s. Sounds like weeaboo fanservice 14 has that in spades.

And frankly, of all the issues i have with WoW in its current format, day night cycle is the absolute least of them. In fact I’d be angry if they fixed that ahead of anything else.

I never cared about graphics to begin with, and I never play with in game music or sound on.

I see it as a mechanic that makes you think twice before blindly running through a bunch of creatures that would love to violently murder you.

But i can see how someone who cant even time a 2+ key would balk at anything remotely close to “difficult”.

Try modern MMO design. WOW is out of date.

Travel is not gameplay.

“Instant gratification:”…that must be why all the Fallout and Elder Scrolls games arent that popular…oh wait…

Then grats, you are in luck, because it will never be fixed…along with a great many other things…like the multitude of bugs reported for decades and never attended to.

Try doing Loremaster one day.

But i can see how someone who cant even time a 2+ key would balk at anything remotely close to “difficult”.

LOL…Ive done up to 15. But whatever floats your boat. Past caring anyway.

As your server empties out ( and it will as WOW is bleeding subs every day ), enjoy your long queues.

Bye.

I don’t do queued content. So queued times aren’t a problem for me.

Your raiderio says otherwise.

Games that require you to travel to each location the first time you go there, and typically don’t have a reason to go there a second time. Outside major towns. Comparing single player rpg’s to an mmo is a red herring.

Such gameplay, click a button and go somewhere with nothing to fight apparently.

Your impotent rage says otherwise.

Seriously, you are so tilted by anyone who doesn’t agree lockstep with your viewpoint that you have been flying off the handle at me for the last few hours everytime I make fun of your precious little weeb game.

I’d think if you were really enjoying it you wouldn’t still be coming back here. Same as every other “I swapped to another mmo” poster on these forums.

LMAO Raider .io has a very limited database ( 500 runs )and excludes hundreds of other runs. You…didnt know?

Take a look at FF 14 crafting and then tell me that. LOL. Old mats are still valuable, HQ even more so. Crafting has its own gear, its own stats, its own abilities and skill tree, has story behind it and no RNG.

Correct stats

Correct spec

Correct type

NO RNG. None. You dont need to make 100 of an item to get the one you want.

WOW crafting is a joke.

Such gameplay, click a button and go somewhere with nothing to fight apparently.

Oh there is plenty to fight…when you GET there. The content is what you do when you arrive…see FF 14 is 10% travel and 90% doing things, WOW is 85% travel to do an activity that takes you five minutes.

Travel is not gameplay.

Seriously, you are so tilted by anyone who doesn’t agree lockstep with your viewpoint that you have been flying off the handle at me for the last few hours everytime I make fun of your precious little weeb game.

Keep calling it that all you like.

Doesnt change the fact FF 14 is superior in every single sense of the word. Then again, if the WOW devs listened and communicated more…but we both know that will never happen.

This thread is graphic proof of that fact.

Say whatever you like…the fact remains:

This thread on this matter started on 30 August 2016.

Last post by a CM, and I dont mean a one word “/salute”, on this matter 30 Sept 2016.

Date today: 8 May 2019

Two years, seven months later , not one word, No updates, no responses, nothing. No fix, no communication.

“We have nothing to tell you”….after two and a half years?

The CMs dont post here, dont engage, dont communicate with OCE…Im actually amazed its still here…for all the good it does.

“We are always reading”

Im sure they are. Trouble is…they’ve read it all…but done nothing about it

What was it a CM said recently?

Actions speak louder than words?

Yes, yes they do.

How many times are you gonna repeat those stats dude. I’ve seen them. I agree that its bad.

If you were doing 15+ keys it would show.

The database is 500 runs per key level per week.

If it shows a failed +2 it would sure as hell show a failed 15.

I’ve made a few posts about how bad current crafting is. I’m well aware.

True of world quests. But those are hardly the focus of the game. Raids, dungeons, pvp, these are the core component of the game and your travel time statistic falls flat on it’s face there. PvP is in a bad spot, but since you are only honour level 2 you clearly haven’t done any pvp in the last 2.5 years so that hardly effects you.

Your core complaints seem to lie with the systems that have always been secondary to what has been the focus of this game since it’s creation, pve and pvp. You’re complaining about the colour of the paint, not the hole in the wall that presently exists, therefore I will continue to mock you.

I’ve seen how you speak to CMs when they do turn up, i dont blame them for not engaging with you, just the rest of us.

In fact when i made a post on the GD called “30 months and some change” about the lack of CM engagement here one of the common responses from people over there was to refer to how aggressive some people on this forum are towards CMs when they do turn up, and they didn’t blame them for not wanting to engage here given the typical reactions they got.

“When they turn up”? :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

The Community managers NEVER turn up here, hadnt you noticed???

The OCE community has been flatly and totally ignored for years. Arcagnion has been absent for years, Takralus doesnt post here. None of them do.

Despite repeated tweets, threads, Q and A questions, tickets, Reddit Q and A questions, despite repeated polite and constructive threads directed to CMs…we have been ignored , their only response has been silence.

Threads and posts DIRECTED TO CMs were flatly ignored. Ythisens was happy to make fluff posts on pink gnome hair.

Ever notice how he cherry picked questions?

“They wont like your tone is why they dont communicate”

It doesnt matter how we say or how we say it, mate, the net result is the same and has been since 2016.

Please carry on giving your thoughts on this. As always, we’ll be monitoring the situation

We did. Net result…zero.

Zip. Nada. Nothing.

“But no one posts in the OCE forums anyway”

Gee…I wonder why that is…let me rack my brains here…what COULD the reason for that be…:roll_eyes:

I can relate to that. I used to work in escalated , and had to deal with angry customers a lot. Guess what a lot of that anger was a result of?

Silence.

Failing to respond to enquiries, letters, calls. It was OUR fault they were angry. Had staff done their jobs ( and by God I was sick to death of cleaning up the mess others left behind ), the situation wouldnt have gotten this far.

Ill give you an analogy.

An absentee manager, when the manager finally come in they are deluged with issues and problems it was their job to fix. Is it the staff’s fault they have to hold over things the manager is meant to fix?

Is it their fault their ears are ringing over customers who are furious that their problems havent been addressed?

I worked at a company for a week where a manager did just that. She was never there. So I walked.

I can think of a GREAT way to solve a lot of the frustration in the forums.

COMMUNICATE.

Talk to your players. Respond when a message or post is directed TO YOU personally. If you ignore it or dont reply then guess what happens…people get angry and annoyed and frustrated.

I have said it and said and said it and the message never seems to reach the destination, and that message is at the heart and soul of a large number of blowups that can be, should have been, and will be, avoided in future.

IF you follow the cardinal rule…the one that Blizzard fails to follow and then blames customers for.

Customer service and customer relations , page one.

The longer you say nothing the worse it gets.

Silence. Feeds. The. Fire.

Here ENDETH the lesson.

Aehl…out.

You did a good job trying to keep this alive, at the very least.

Truly, it says so much about Blizzard Entertainment when an issue like this can go without any sort of response at all for basically three years, despite continued discussion.

The only reason I’m really still here is because of my guild, though I wish we could transfer everyone over to another game like FFXIV or ESO for something new.

This is now an incredibly long novel of a forum topic. One I gave up on long ago and have only occasionally checked in recent times. Looking back at it, my first post on this subject was September 7th 2016. It is really the only thing I have bothered posting on the forums about. That I felt strongly enough about to do so.

From the moment I first logged onto wow I fell in love with Azeroth, its lore and characters. I made toons of every race just to thoroughly explore it. It has been truly depressing to be plunged into a world of eternal night time and to see the beauty of it in daylight so rarely. To have such a fundamental aspect of the game world so clearly wrong.

People here have championed this cause for so long and for that I thank you all for your efforts. I wish I had been so motivated

The most gutting thing about it was the lack of response from Blizzard. For me it left them looking like they had a complete disregard for the Oceanic community. This probably is not the case but it was certainly the impression Blizzard left me with. They would do well to change this perception and engage with the Oceanic community more frequently. I think its right to say that the most likely thing to cause anger and increase frustration is silence. Even simply saying that there has been no updates on it is better than leaving a large section of the community feeling ignored for such a long period of time.

Anyway people, hopefully some daylight at the end of an incredibly long tunnel. I found this on wowhead.

I tried to link it but it wont let me. Google “Jar of sunwarmed sand” on wowhead.

I couldn’t resist posting in the comments section of this item. First time haha. I hope I did so in a way that reflected everyone’s feelings about this.

For Azeroth…

I ask the question every time they do a Q&A but it just gets ignored like the whole OCE forum
