Visuals have an impact on mood, which can have an impact on immersion in the game.
There is an Inky Black Potion for those who want a deeper night. There should be a Bright Dawn Potion for those who want to play in the day. It may not affect everything with the game, but at least those in OCE and the nightowls in the USA will be able to experience that visual.

This comes under the heading of âIt cant be doneâ, which is what we hear from Blizzard all too often. We can ask all we like, it wont be fixed, it wont be addressed.
Its been ignored, it will continue to be ignored, we are ignored and have been for years. The CMs dont post here and they wontâŚthey have all the time to post in fluff threads whilst this goes unanswered.
The fact that repeated posts and tweets and Q and A questions have been met with silence is proof. This forum may as well not be here for all the good it doesnt do. They might as well close it.
That video above is what I see in FF14 every dayâŚyet Blizzard tells is âit cant be doneâ They broke it and they cantâŚor wontâŚfix it.
It could honestly be on their list of âthings to doâ but keeps getting pushed back
One would think that an issue like this that has not been fixed for years would be a âpriorityâ.
This
So my very serious question to you is, why the hell would the majority of the Oceanic playerbase waste their time posting in what they see as a dead, silent, ignored forum? A quick and easy search of the forum shows you exactly how bad Blizzardâs communication is with their Oceanic playerbase (as you have said, being a green you are NOT representing Blizzard, only your own opinions).
says it all.
A CM recently commented how âactions speak louder than wordsâ
Looking at this dead, silent, ignored community forumâŚId say that this is as good a place as any to start.
My sub ends in May.
Im done playing in eternal darkness.
See you in Eorzea.
Ive just quit, removed the game from my system.
Done being treated as a third class customer.
I am trading this
for this
It amazes me how many things there are that others can doâŚthat Blizzard tells us cant be done.

Farewell and best of luck. It is a shame that the OCE playtime is so dark when so much effort goes in to excellent graphics.

Note how we are told âthere is nothing for the CMs to post about in the OCE forumsââŚand said CMs still have time to post fluff in GD.
Meanwhile, the clock ticks towards two years six months silence at the end of MarchâŚOCE is forgotten and ignored.
SeriouslyâŚare we REALLY going to head to the three year mark? THREE YEARS of silenceâŚTHIS is their idea of âmanaging a communityâ?
âWe are always readingâ No they arent, and they never have been, and they never will
May as well close the OCE forums.
tbh the only good thing about it is that i can catch midnight salmon during my normal gaming times lol
but yea itâs absolutely depressing to play the game in utter darkness all the time. boralus looks so much better in the sun. otherwise itâs just dark gloomy docks. just give us a toggle, why is that so hard. they added an inky potion for NA guys, why canât we have something like that too?
but honestly blizz doesnât really give a fk about Oceanic servers. some of us had 29+ hours of prolonged downtime a few months ago and never got any compensation, and apparently this is a semi-frequent occurrence for people living in affected areas.

Question at Q and A was ignored.
Again.
Iâve recently returned from a ~3 month hiatus (on and off logging in). Itâs still dark. Why did I take a hiatus? Simple; the darkness was wrecking my eyesight. To have to squint against glare and look at a screen that has little to no illumination was messing with my eyes.
Itâs only WoW with this issue. FF XIV looks great, day or night. As fun as FF is, I love WoW. I donât want to quit it. So I found a solution. I bought a new monitor.
Did I need a new monitor? No. Did I want a new monitor? Not really. Was it necessary so I could massively boost the brightness so I didnât have to squint to navigate WoW at 3pm AEST and wreck my already bad eyesight? Yes.
$1700 for a monitor of similar dimensions to my current one but with a massively boosted brightness setting. The payoff? I can play one game better and I have to keep adjusting the monitor for other games. Also if Iâm lucky enough to play WoW with the in game sun up itâs horribly washed out.

Sept 2016 - 24 March 2019 and we are nowhere.
Take a look at that video above to see what the difference is. I am still subbed, but I dont log in anymore.
here has been literally nothing in the last several years of the OCE forum that needs a blue reply.
Yet the CMs have time to post fluff in GD all the time. Ythisens, KaivaxâŚ
The server tech/code was flatout changed/rewritten back then, remember the giant slow patches we had as they changed file formats over as well? Same kinda thing, not as easy as simply undoing it because itâs literally different now.
Translation, they broke it and they cantâŚor wontâŚfix it
You state not enough people complain on this forum to make it worthwhile for a blue to post. I state have a look at the numbers of all WoW forums in all regions and divide number of individual posters vs individual subscribers as a percentage. Using maths there has NEVER been a forum post worthwhile of a blueâs attention!
Using the same logic the US & Euro forums would be bereft of blue posts, or at the very least be more akin to Oceanic - 1 or 2 blue posts every few years lol. Instead we have Ythisens posting on everything from serious questions to inane commentary on rubbish.

To which I agree.
I have to ask:
When they made the decision to do this, I am curiousâŚdid NO ONE see this coming? Did NO ONE stand up and say âThis will turn the OCE servers into permanent nightâ?
Two and a half years of silence.
For those looking for a game where you get to experience both night and day in significantly shorter cycles - so depending upon how long you play, youâll definitely see both - check out FFXIV. They have a free trial. Also, Twitch Prime (free if you have Amazon Prime) has a promotion where you get the base game for free through May 3. Might be something that yâall would like. Iâm certainly loving it so far.
Edited to add that each day is 70 minutes in real, Earth time. So if you play 2 hours, youâll definitely see the sun. Unless itâs raining, of course.
Hope that the WoW devs listen at some point because it is awful to only see the nighttime part of the game, imo.

Just give us an option to turn on daylight mode. Iâm sure it cant be too hard to work out.

Thanks I willâŚalong with the thousands of others who have walked out the door.
With more to come.
You may see fit to keep paying for a substandard gaming experience, I wont.
Just remember when you look at Boralus and see pitch dark at 2pm your timeâŚwhen you realise that Blizzard wont fix it and never intended toâŚwhen you look at the calendar and think âOh damn I need to adjust that to US timeâ âŚIll be walking in broad daylight under a sunny sky.
Limsa is a massive city by the sea, Uldah a majestic city, and Ishgard glorious when the sun hits the snowy peaks.
You may be happy and content to sit in an empty, dead forum the CMs never respond in, you may be happy to be summarily ignored for close to TWO AND HALF YEARSâŚIm not.
Accept it or not, OCE has been forgotten, every single attempt to get a response on this issue has met with silence.
but you have to see both sides of an issue.
There is no other side. Blizzard broke it and wont fix it.
Dev time is limited.
Theyve had two and half years.
When was this thread started againâŚwhat was itâŚAug 2016?
What the date today?
May 8 2019.
Case closed.
