Darkspear Troll Heritage Armor Set Looks Terrible

#freethenose

That’s really the only thing off with this. Show the nose and a version without the mask.

Nah, I really really like the set. It’s one of the best heritage sets imo, and I’m afraid if they try to edit it it will become trash. Please don’t change it!

Just get rid of the sock hanging from the mouth area

:man_shrugging:

I think it’s all pretty fitting other than the helmet but for me that’s basically every set they make. Eyepatches are always a good fallback choice but for the better part they just make terrible head pieces.

It’s pretty bad. It’s based on very old school artwork and just looks too simple for today’s models.

Only plus side? It’s better than the Draenei armour…

Oof. Yeah. It’s not Draenei heritage armor bad but, yeah, 3/10. It’s like they’re just pooing out the last of the heritage sets to get them done with.

It’s like whoever designed this is a big Red Hot Chili Peppers fan.

I like the set overall but that helm on the male troll is quite regrettable. The contour of the mask forces you gaze down towards the loincloth that is also similarly shaped. Talk about a treasure trail!

Honestly, for me the only criticism I have is remove the wooden mask and move the face cloth down below the nose so it matches the artwork for Sen’jin and Zul’jin. Other than that, I like it.

I previewed the mask on PTR and it looks like it has some physics added to it that isn’t shown on wow head. I can’t say how much since I can only see a stationary view of it but it does move when you first put it on

bro what that set is complete garbage. imagine being a troll and getting your armor fitted. once you put it on you look like it was found on different corpses after the last war

I legitimately thought they had a beak when I first looked at it. That face cloth needs some improving.

For real

The Draenei one is terrible

It’s an interesting set. The face mask is very unique, and everything else feels very Troll like.

I’d have to see it in a model viewer or in game to see if I like the face mask, but it could be an item that grows on me over time.

Thank you for your opinion. There are things I like about it too and it is clearly “A” troll set, but this set misses the mark in all key areas you’d expect for a Troll Heritage Set, there’s not a ton of Darkspear Troll mogs in the game as is and most of them were made pre-BFA and all of them look better than this.

Why? I mean it looks like Shadow Hunters?

I really wish the back piece was a proper voodoo/ witch doctor back piece with shrunken heads and bones instead of the generic troll shield with spears.

Me too! I know China doesn’t allow visible bones so I’m wondering if that had anything to do with their decision.

Looks like someone tried to depict one from memory. Mask is fit wrong, hanging only over the nose. Back piece looks like they didn’t want to put in the effort of making an actual Shadowhunter back piece. Dude clearly skipped Belt Day. They could have actually done something with this set. No bones except the discount Bloodhunter glove, no Troll Glaive…

Put the cloth (mask?) under the nose like other artwork and it would improve it by quite a bit.

Definitely agree, there’s more they could do but at the barest of minimums that’d be something.
