Darkspear Troll Heritage Armor Set Looks Terrible

Sorry, OP. Gonna have to thoroughly disagree with you. That set looks amazing! Really just what I would have expected for the darkspear.

I feel your pain though, and I sympathise. Being let down by your heritage set, that big sucks. I hope you learn to love it.

Although now having looked up some images of Sen’jin to remind myself, yeah y’all are totally right about the mask. The nose should be out! Blizz, I hope you fix it!

just put the blood troll helm over it and it’s fine

lol, I love those old paintings it is like that.

I’m still trying to figure out what the weird beak-like part of the helmet is.

I THINK it’s supposed to be this:

But it doesn’t look like it at all.

If that was the look of the headpiece that they were going for, they failed miserably.

I think it looks good.

I think where Blizzard erred is this is obviously an homage to WC3 and a lot of those design principles, and most WoW players did not play that so they do not know how absolutely hard the long cloth between the tusks went.

not my favorite.
the Bronzebeard, HM Tauren and Maghar orc sets are superb.

Looking at the heritage armor from the side, that’s definitely what they were trying to do.

But it just comes off looking like

Playble squidwards :exploding_head:

I mean, have you seen troll schnozes?

I loved the design in WC3 and the mask between the tusks did go hard! Only thing is, this design covers the nose and the mask doesn’t go around the tusks covering the jaw and sides of the mouth like a mask should, like THE mask should.

I have no problem with the Troll armour, except for that helm!

I agree, it’s fugly! I was hoping they’d give us one of these masks but why didn’t they make it cover the sides of the face and leave the nose uncovered? Who did this!? The rest of the mog is terrible, it’s so uninspired. Wasted potential.

I always saw that mask/veil as just a bit of cloth crudely pierced onto the tusks. It did look like it hung loose and rough on Sen’jin. Nose out would look much better.

Actually just having a simple cloth on the tusks as an option would best. This one is obviously meant to be somewhat ornate with that piece over the eyes. Humans got two helm shapes. Why not trolls?

The set is growing on me a bit but I think it’s best use will be mixing and matching pieces but I do think the mask/cloth portion needs work.

Been playing around the tmog tool on wowhead a bit for a possible enhance shaman. Kind of like this.

Perhaps we’ll get confirmation that a group of them joined with the Darkspear over players being able to just be Sand trolls with no explanation.

I agree. Really hope that the mask is updated before it goes live.

The helm almost looks like it’s a buggy appearance. If not, as a heritage armor it’s… super strange. On its own it’s kinda cool, but it doesn’t quite make sense for the set. I like most of the other armor but it couldn’t hurt to have a bit more polish. I agree with some shrunken heads on a belt (maybe some gnomes )

I must just not be picky and have low standards, this set is right up my alley for my troll shammy.

I tried it on in Wowhead’s dressing room and, I have to say, I really came around to it! I may leave off the helmet or the back piece, but the rest works very well for what I imagine my character to be.

Additionally, while looking through the mog options, I found an awesome updated version of a vanilla axe called the Arborcidal Peon’s Chopper that would look great with it once it gets ingame.

Looks like they let an AI tool punch that out…
