Don’t listen Mr. Smushy Snuggalumps, nothing bad happened!
The game just feels neutered now, a cheap simulacrum of what WOW used to be except now it makes sure nobody is ever offended.
Now go play with the orphans and stay a while to listen to some sob story. Looking forward to a future patch where characters show us how to pull a Barv.
children’s week is at least as old as tbc.‘don’t pretend like this is something new
You can get away with things like this when you also put in risky things like an entire floor of a raid dedicated to Illidan’s harem of half naked elves dancing.
When the whole game has the orphan vibe it gets tiresome.
WoW has always been horrible war crimes next to poop jokes.
Nothing has really changed in twenty years.
I’m sorry i missed the zeitgeist when dealing with swathes of children who’s parents were murdered became a light fluffy thing and not… dealing with kids who’s parents were murdered and they lost everything.
You want darker and mature storylines and ignore the tragedy in the story?
I think you don’t actually know what dark and mature means.
Aye, this confuses me. How is playing with orphans not dark?
All of the tragedy is so therapy coded that it feels sterile.
Show me some of the tragedies occurring.
lol, cmon
Playing catch and hide and seek isn’t dark at all.
The harem didnt have any tragedy or anything non PG occurring.
Do you know what an orphan is? And the situation for being an orphan, would you call it positive?
Well way back when… (2004)
When anduin was just a kid, players saw him grow… sorta…
Maybe thats why?
I simply disagree, and so did Blizzard when they had to go back and right their own wrongs by changing it. If it wasn’t risky why did they update it at all?
It’s the theme behind it. It is bitter sweet and dark. The fact you can’t see that is concerning.
Who knows.
But I cant think of a single thing that was actively occurring there that wasnt fine.
I think you are relying on the implication of there being a “harem”, what goes on in one’s mind when we introduce such a setting.
Which you specifically stated did not count.
Blizzard did, and updated it to atone for previous errors.
We just disagree, that’s fine.
blink
You use therapy to get over tragedy… that’s its purpose.

So your point is that Blizzard is perfect? Doesn’t make mistakes? Doesn’t overreact? Is that the hill you want to die on?
We can agree you are displaying double standards.
Which is all you wanted to do. Bash current WoW. Laud Old WoW.
Its so boring. Sometimes I hang out to point of the hypocritical nature of these statements. I think we can both agree you dismiss anything in current WoW to push your point.
Have a great day.
Blizzard most definitely over corrects. These changes, however, were made during the Great Neutering when anything possibly offensive had to get purged. It speaks volumes about intent they felt the need to update the Den of Mortal Delights at the very same time.
This statement works in the reverse: you rush to defend current wow. That’s perfectly fine, I just disagree.
The game in my view has over corrected towards inoffensive, neutered content that sees masculinity and testosterone as things to be avoided due to “toxicity”. I’m simply not very interested in this type of storytelling. I’m happy for you that you enjoy it.
They did give us the super dark and mature teddy bear race.
Adding more “dark and mature” tones would be wasted on this player base. Most of you don’t bother reading quest text, otherwise you would know how silly you sound. It’s all there.
Especially if you took the time to talk to each mage at the funeral and saw that they surprisenly had unique lines indicating their thoughts (or lack of thoughts) in the matter, like how one of them was more there simply out of a form of duty and for Aethes, and not for those that died in the attack, or how another doesn’t even acknowledge you approaching them due to them being so far gone in their own head.
The possibility of Dalaran not being rebuilt, again, is an interesting idea that further hints at the possibility that the main “hub” of Midnight will likely be a heavily revamped Silvermoon and that entire northern portion of the Eastern Kingdoms.
