No. Not self sacrifice. There’s loads of that throughout wow. It was the way he self sacrificed that was so absolutely absurd that whoever okayed it should seriously reconsider their career path.

? How was it bad? He literally did what every other character did. The self sacrifice in wow was always terrible but fun. The only true self sacrifice that made it to be an actual sacrifice was varian. Everyone else could have fought for another day.
He failed to take out his nemesis.
He watched nearly all his fellow stormriders be corrupted or killed via someone he thought as a brother.
In the bookends he saw a chance to set things right in his mind and he took his shot.
Was his kamikaze attack very intelligent on his part? No, but he wasn’t running on that at that point. He was suicidal. And he chose his own terms to go out on.
Could his mindset could have been caught and he talked out of it beforehand? Maybe.
But “shellshocked warrior goes out in a blaze of glory” isn’t something out of left field, and is often lauded.

I remember helping an undead apothecary create a plague, personally testing it on live prisoners in a cellar, watching them suffer and die, and being rewarded for it.
Give me something with that type of feel in TWW. Something where you’re committing possible war crimes and could arguably be the villian.

Tbf, garrosh insulting sylvanas was a mistake by the writers as they said. It was an old line and script that got passed and wish it didn’t but it was far too late. It didn’t reflect garrosh later on in the story, which is why it stuck out like a sore thumb.
Warcraft is filled with these. Same with draenai lore being “incorrect” from the rts. Why? Because metzen just forgot and didn’t think it was a huge issue.
