I only have the red ones since I haven’t done much SL content beyond hitting 80 Renown, so I never considered how well the alternate colour of them would match this chest.
Actually, this chest is the only reason I ended up with a Dark Ranger mog this xpac at all. Back in 9.0 the Covenant gear was really expensive to mog, so I didn’t feel like wasting the gold. Then I was like “Oh wait a minute, this kinda looks like a Dark Ranger…”

Yeah! I had eyed up that chestpiece since launch, but didn’t end up going venthyr so I never really got it until this week when I was was just messing with my mogs. Hadn’t made the connection until then that it could really mix well with the Venthyr Covenant cosmetic gear hehe.

They’ve datamined that dark ranger NPC’s texture for 9.2.5 and it has pre rendered armour like an NPC. If they were planning on doing a big player thing with it I imagine she’d use player style textures.

As much as I do want to see Dark Rangers playable in some fashion, I have to take the video with a grain of salt. It just strikes me as a clickbait type of video.
Speaking for myself, I don’t really want to get any hopes up for seeing anything specifically in the next expansion. Especially since we see these type of speculation videos a lot on Youtube by various Youtubers. We really won’t know any specific details likely until the next expansion and 9.2.5 features gets announced. Who knows what will be coming, for that matter. Hopefully, something better than Shadowlands at the very least.
But regardless, I’m still hoping to see Dark Rangers playable in some fashion. Hopefully, we’ll see races people want playable become a reality overtime.

Yeah, but that’s what I’m saying. The npc who gives the quest uses an NPC texture, not a player texture. If they were adding dark ranger player textures she would use those.
it wouldnt be a race, similar to high elf coloring on velfs but who arent an unique race named high elves. iotw, its just customizations for hunters. doesnt need an npc
I wouldn’t like just hunter being restricted either.
Is Alleria a hunter? My first question would be why wasn’t what was done for VEs restricted to just one class then.
But if added on in any way to BEs I do think Paladin should be locked out. But one class locked out vs it locked to only one class is very dif imo

What he means is that the new Dark Ranger texture they created doesn’t have player skin set up on it, so it doesn’t look like confirmation that they’re planning anything.
I would go so far as to say it suggests that they aren’t.
