Other them the banshee skills, wasn’t dark rangers baked into hunters though?

We should start asking heavily on the PTR for the addition of Dark Rangers in patch 9.2.
With Sylvanus being a major player in 9.2 and the assets already being mostly done, now would be a perfect time to add them.

No. Dark Rangers are more magic oriented than hunters. Have you ever heard of the spell bow class? Well Dark Rangers are like them but focus primarily on shadow and necromantic themed spells in addition to banshee abilities. Similar to rogues, they cloak themselves in shadows but as opposed to melee combat they strike from range. So they’re essentially ranged assassins.
Another big difference versus DR and hunters is that their themes are visually and physically distinct from one another and appeal to completely separate fantasies. Let’s not forget that Dark Rangers have abilities that hunters both never had before or were removed (black arrow).
Before anyone mentions Sylvanas’ legendary bow, the abilities wailing arrow and withering fire are temporary, only available when the bow is equipped. This bow will be quickly replaced in 10.0 or in pre-patch. Sylvanas is THE Dark Ranger so it make sense that her bow would have DR themed effects. Yet, another difference is that DR are a special type of undead and only undead (humans, Nelves, Belves and Forsaken) can be Dark Rangers.
A Dark Ranger class would also have the potential to heal allies in addition to DPS due to banshee shadow healing abilities. Remember the banshee unit you could become during the Darkshore Warfront Horde side? That was primarily a healer. Dark Rangers also “curse” enemies and drain life like vampires.
If you ever played HotS Sylvanas or defeated in SoD (almost all of her raid abilities are from HotS) you’ll know that Dark Rangers have a whole kit to choose from. Heck, NPC Dark Rangers have some of her abilities.

I’m still waiting for my pink hair color and my burgundy hair color and my red eyes and my pink eyes for Blood Elves so here’s another request from me for Dark Ranger customizations for Blood Elves or Dark Ranger Allied Race for the Horde either or totally works for me.
Also lots of new skintones, scars, tattoos, etc. fangs, etc. for others.

I hope so, but (I’m probably being dramatic, but I’m POed right now) Blizz seems to openly resent Dark Rangers, those who want them and those who like WCIII and Wrath so I’m not going to hold my breath. Blizzard did what Sylvanas couldn’t do. So tired of being let down.
