If it comes in the form of only a class skin for BE hunters and people try to say that makes up for BEs losing visual uniqueness entirely to afford VEs second visually distinct theme I will be rather let down.

Yeah that would really suck but who knows what’s coming, it’s why I said in our Discord other day and then in the Blood Elf thread that I’m not getting my hopes super high and I’m reserving my judgement until we see what’s actually coming because who knows and the so called “leaks” are all over the place so I take them with a grain of salt.

An interview with Steve Danuser mentions we’ll see some of what has been happening with Azeroth in 9.2.5:
"A lot has been happening in Azeroth while we’ve been absent in the Shadowlands. Are we going to see that story move ahead?
In Shadowlands Patch 9.2.5 we’ll see some things happening back in Azeroth and learn of some events that have transpired. We’ll have pre-patch events where we find out what’s going on in Stormwind and Orgrimmar, how the Horde has been faring with their new counsel, how the Alliance has been faring with Turalyon at the helm, and what’s been different about that since then."
Given the rumors of an allied race of some sort (so far it sounds like just one, oddly enough) as a preorder incentive for Dragonflight, I’m curious if something may come from that. Popular rumor is it could be Darkfallen, which would be neat if true. Especially if San’layn are possible on the Horde side through it.
Maybe we’ll see what the Dark Rangers have been up to since we went into the Shadowlands. Here is hoping!

A recent interview with Ion Hazzikostas and Steve Danuser mentioned Dark Ranger/Darkfallen customization. This is a summary link from Wowhead liveblogging it:
"Dark Ranger Customizations
“We like to do Customizations when it’s thematic, similar to Night Elves in 8.1. It’s kind of a rare and special thing, when there is the right opportunity to do something like that, that’s something that they would consider.”
Not really sure when the right time would be, seeing as BfA and Shadowlands were opportune times to do it.

Their answer specifically feels like it could work w what we know about 9.2.5 and Calia / Tirisfal getting something (?)
And their answer specifically seemed vague while working w that? Like in the past they normally just say no lol

I’m perplexed about that.
How much time will we need to get these Dark Ranger customizations?
And of course I don’t mention the Forest Troll, Ice Troll, Man’ari Eredar, Frostborn Dwarf, Dragonmaw Orc and San’layn customizations if we can’t get them as playable race.
When will we have the thematic to get these customizations?
I really hope we won’t need to wait many years to get all these customizations.

So I came across a tweet speculating some about that music track that was datamined awhile ago:
"-This is pretty much the exact same length as the other allied race intro cutscene tracks
-This plays very often in the audio book version of the Sylvanas novel
-This was added in the same build as a bunch of combat noises for both genders"

Really seems suspect. I’m really trying to temper my expectations, but darned if I’m not getting excited for possible playable Darkfallen. Especially if it leads to both Dark Rangers and San’layn being playable. Who knows what is coming, if any playable race or races are forthcoming.
I will continue to keep an eye out for anything of interest to report here and the San’layn megathread.

Wowhead put up an article regarding Calia and hinted to possible events in Tirisfal Glades with comments on it from Steve Danuser:
“Those of you who have been watching the datamines of our 9.2.5 patch know that there is something that takes place in Tirisfal Glades, and some of that may allow us to catch up with Calia Menethil, and delve into some storylines that affect the Forsaken and others who have been touched by the magic of death and what it’s done to their cultures, so there’s definitely some stuff coming up that will be of interest.”
As emphasized by Fallynn in the San’layn megathread, this part of the quote is of particular interest:

And so a potentially juicy carrot dangles above our heads, just out of reach once more. Seems like it keeps elevating as opposed to descending, too. I want to be excited, but since we don’t know details and how the rumored Darkfallen playable race (assuming the rumor is true) will be treated, I can’t help but worry and be frustrated with the lack of info. I’m hoping that any announcement will be soon so we can see what is or isn’t coming with 9.2.5.
Will continue to keep an eye out for anything of interest to report back here. I’m hoping for the best for both Dark Ranger and San’layn fans should we get a playable Darkfallen race.

Calia is working for Alliance extremists and butchers a bunch of forsaken. However, a bunch of Dark Rangers working with Vampyr burst in and destroy her. They save the day and join the Horde. BOOM!

If her story is horde moving forward I’d rather see something like new options come out of it anyways, so if she’s the cause we get DR stuff finally so be it.
I’d have preferred them never have tried to put her on the horde to begin w but she doesn’t seem to be going away and they keep her around
