Took 45.5 hours played time. That’s insane. I got a level and a half just from the WoD intro scenario! I used to be on the neutral side of the leveling speed debate. But this is my 5th allied race heritage set I’ve unlocked now, so it actually is a massive relief after all.
That’s not fast, that’s slow. In Legion prior to the (I think it was) 7.3.5 patch where they introduced allied races I leveled every class from start to cap and on the ones that started at 1 it took me between 24 hours and 36 hours using nothing special, basic heirlooms, no xp pots, no one assisting me farming dungeons, no RAF. The fastest was monk due to their inherent xp bonus and the slowest was rogue. Turns out skipping mobs while doing quests actually meant having to run around more for more quests which took longer than just killing the mobs in the first place. Post 7.3.5 I deleted a rogue and started over to get the void elf heritage armor. It took me just over 2 days played that time, even starting from 20, due to the xp changes and scaling that occurred. Since then they’ve reduced xp needed and increased gains almost back to what it was pre-7.3.5. So, uh, congrats on the 110 KT but that leveling speed isn’t actually fast.
Right, but 2 weeks doesn’t really mean much in context of played time. If you played 3 hours a day over 14 days that’s only 42 hours. Which was actually a great time before they nerfed and nerfed and nerfed the xp requirement over and over again this expansion if you were trying to level as fast as possible. Depends a lot on when, how much played you took, whether you were trying to level fast or not, and how familiar you are with it.
I just hope they don’t do a level squish. I know 120 is a big number but just increase the amount of XP rewarded or possibly do 5 level increments instead of 10 per expansion.
All zones scale now so let people level till 20 in the starting zones, than simply increase the amount of XP rewarded till current expansion. If you out level an area you can always go back and do it if your interested in the story.
Perhaps there is some technical data in the back-end or some process that I do not see the process and don’t have a full understanding of but who knows.
I think after the scaling changes and XP rebalancing in 8.1 leveling is JUST right in terms of the pace. Bear in mind I have full heirlooms and war mode but it feels like they hit the nail on the head finally. It’s quick but you always feel like you’re progressing you don’t ever really come to a screeching halt like you used to.
Said me. Because it is. Seriously, if you think it’s still too demanding after the rebalance then the problem is with you. Do the math on my character I linked. It was an average of about half an hour per level. That’s nothing. And I did it with very few dungeons (only about 3 or 4), which would have sped it up significantly. Not to mention however much time I left the game sitting idle while I went afk for something.
Well, for me, leveling is why I play the game. So 45 hours of game play before I hit max sounds like I’m getting cheated. But, I have ways to slow things down, so I’m not worried.
By comparing WoW to other MMO’s most of WoW’s activities and professions are by far the simplest/shortest. I find it interesting thou that the simpler and shorter that WoW’s activities and professions becomes it seems to lose more players then it retains.
