Fast leveling making keeping equipment near impossible

Now I am not talking about max level equipment BUT the leveling up stuff…

My monk is between 70 and 80 and I have been trying to do at least one dungeon a day for gear and xp BUT after 5 days I am discovering I am having a hard time keeping my non heirloom gear even close to up to date … I noticed when I hit 73rd level that I was still wearing the rings I had gotten around 60th level…

Now I am playing a monk so I AM getting an xp buff for that daily but still the fact I can get through 2 to 3 levels every hours is making this added xp increase seem insane …

I know a lot of people don’t like the long dull leveling when no one else is around BUT as a long time player the fact that you can get to the max level rep grind in maybe a month is too much dor me making me wonder WHY you have increased xp more recently after you start losing subs quite possibly due to poor max level content…

someone at blizzard needs to be in a nice hospital with padded walls I think for all of OUR safety I think sometimes…

MAYBE someone can help me figure out how to gear up fastest so I don’t end up way behind when one of the other issues with really fast leveling is making professions impossible to keep up even when I have 2 other characters farming level appropriate material (AND still I often can’t get enough leather on the leather worker due to you leveling through too fast to collect enough EVEN with only 75 points needed and the vanilla skills for leather worker are difficult because there are certain levels of leather I JUST can’t get properly due to the scaling of monsters making it hard to judge what leather you will be gettering [heavy and rugged leather are really bad it seems])

okay thank you for any help on this issue

leveling too fast to gear? just remove all your Heirlooms :ok_hand::ok_hand::ok_hand:

It may seem really bad but honestly, with the item and stat squish being 70 with a 60 ring isn’t nearly as bad as it used to be. My 40 monk has level 20ish rings and the ilvl difference is very very small.

With heirlooms gear you get while leveling doesn’t matter at all. Just equip what happens to be better whenever you happen to get it. Questing is much faster than dungeon spamming and you get more gear out of it too.

The best way to gear up while leveling is to quest. Quest rewards are more frequent than dungeon rewards.

I’m not in any hurry to level, but when I decided to level a priest from 100-110 in dungeons, I found that by 104, my ilvl had fallen below what was necessary to heal adequately. After shutting off my xp, my ilvl began to rise again until I was satisfied I was able to heal well and turned my xp back on.

Depending on class…or maybe not even, your gear doesn’t matter much while leveling. My friend levels a lot of alts and he barely wears whatever he gets. Some of his pieces are white crap from the starting area. Still kills stuff, levels up, etc.

You’re getting mog gear mostly while a lowbie. Just keep playing anyway, you may not even notice. Unless you PvP maybe.

That could be possible IF I wasn’t already going to have gearing issues …

THE leveling is just THAT fast now…

it isn’t JUST the heirlooms I have had almost a full set of available since wrath BUT NOW it is very difficult to get gear for the other slots …

as I said though YOU can’t even craft the gear slots since you can’t get mats anymore for these levels quick enough

NOW I could struggle to level and change out my heirlooms that were find before the increases in xp as I didn’t need to replace those slots but now at 75th it might be a bit of an issue to remove all the heirloom gear…

I literally did my cooking and fishing daily and 3 regular quest plus maybe 15 kills and I went from just into 75 to almost 76th …

I will listen the the rest and try … as healer I do seem to notice when my gear is dropping off … If I was a DPS probably not so much as a small loss in DPS is nothing as a rule BUT when you are the only tank or healer it seems like it might make a difference …

THANK you all the answer by the way … will keep trying

You’re worrying about something you don’t need to worry about. If you’re wearing heirlooms, then gear doesn’t matter until max level, not even slighty. I’m not sure why you’re turning it into a big issue.

Since you’ll be wearing only your heirlooms for a while, you can mog them into something you think looks cool if you want.

Because at a point you can notice a difference. It may not actually matter, but noticing the difference can be disheartening and cause you to worry

what are you talking about?

I’m leveling a dark iron dwarf now. she’s about level 50. I’m having 0 problems getting gear for non heirloom slots.

this is 100% correct. it literally doesn’t matter. just throw in what you get while questing and call it good.

the reason I am worrying is because doing the wrath dungeons my monk feels seriously lacking trying to heal at times…

I don’t want my group to wipe constantly…

The dungeons really are the only content I enjoy these days as the rest is just the same old thing

I’ve leveled with many many toons, and I’ve never noticed enough of a difference to matter. Then again I always quest because it’s faster and much more efficient, might be different if you dungeon spam to max level instead. I mean if you enjoy it, that’s completely fine, but it’s slower and less efficient and offers less gear.

I do 1 MAYBE 2 dungeons BUT with the dungeon quests I am gaining almost 2 levels in a dungeon ,

often with no gear

Low level dungeons are wildly unbalanced. You having trouble healing at that level probably has little to do with gear.

Crafting is still viable in the mid-level range. Leveling this char now, with blacksmithing, I made the cobalt pieces for the non-heirloom slots, should be fine until hitting the Cata zones.

I’ve found that if you’re questing, by level 50 is when gear becomes more frequent. Prior to that I have empty slots or slots that haven’t been upgraded in 10-20 ivls. I think they should rethink how often they give gear to lowest levels, because people without heirlooms are even worse off.

It’s a fact that you get less gear from dungeons than from questing, so it’s easy to fall behind in gearing if you don’t quest.

My gods people will complain about literally everything. Leveling was too slow, now it’s too fast. Just get to 120 and gear where it matters.
