D4 event and griefers

At some point you have to consider if not wanting to deal with other people having fun means you need to play a single player game. Tabbing or clicking the nameplate is enough to find the goblin and tag it.

The only problem I’ve had with the Treasure Goblin event is “Sunflower…” It is okay once but after that it gets annoying really quick. I stopped running it after I got the Baalial.

Now, they need to introduce a third devil goat so I can have a complete team.

Hmmm, dont the toys have the name of the character they belong too, won’t players be able to mass report them for grifing?

I don’t know how fun it will be if they get a temp ban for placing a toy… I mean people get mass reported for less… why would these players expose themselves to a ban like that?
I don’t get what so fun about exposing yourself to a ban… :person_shrugging:
:dracthyr_shrug:

watch the videos about them blowing up amd processors…its informative.

I have a decent laptop, couple years old but it gets the job done, I do get an FPS drop during the event but overturned corgi goggles and tab target + judgement or any instant cast spell hasn’t failed me yet.

I have been honest… and for some reason, people keep pretending that simply because I don’t care about people having fun in a game, I must be personally responsible for “griefing”.

Nothing I’m doing is having any impact on anyone else.
I turn up, I kill, I give away the pet, and I leave.

Nope, I just want the kill.
I’m happy to let other people do what they want.

Some people will never be happy, until there are no people left in THEIR mmo.

Blizzard won’t do a thing about griefers. Just like Blizzard failed to curb botting and introduced the WoW token so that they can profit off gold selling too.

WoW by design encourages griefing because Blizzard doesn’t care.

yeah… with their constant ongoing banwaves… clearly they don’t care.

someone doing something you don’t like, doesn’t make them a griefer.

People need to stop making themselves out to be victims.
When people take back control and empower themselves, they’ll discover that they don’t need to have things tailored to suit them.

You sound like the ones that say that a level 60 ganking lowbies over and over again in Classic isn’t griefing.

And no surprise you believe that Blizzards actions against Botting is ‘Good enough’ when it isn’t. The WoW Token also increased Gold Selling/Buying as well.

I’m trying to stay neutral with you man, but when say stuff like this…sorry. But when the VAST MAJORITY of people are annoyed…it is in fact griefing. Look at most the comments to the thread…Most people agree it causes issues for them. You might want to at least see the other sides point instead of just dismissing it all together.

The lag is there without the toys

If putting down punching bags and other toys before a boss pull was acceptable behavior it would be acceptable in dungeons and raids also. Pretty sure it isn’t.

because it isn’t.
ganking has always been a staple of pvp realms.

they’re not though.
the VAST MAJORITY of people, are enjoying the event.

these are the people who will complain about anything.
let’s not pretend this is unique to this thread.

gobo isn’t a boss.

You can turn warmode off (except in opposing faction capital which will auto-flag). Go into any rest area, press ‘N’ and click the glowing circle in the bottom right. It’ll stop glowing.

I think the event is fun. I’ve played it wm on and wm off.

It lags across all modes. Toys have no impact. If there are 100 players in a location, there’ll be lag.

Hope that helps and have a nice week.

If you can’t select and get a hit in the 20-30 seconds it’s up you might have to chalk that one up as an “L” and try harder in 30 minutes.

Corsair K100 keyboard here.
8,000Hz polling rate with a 4000Hz scan rate.
There isn’t anything faster that I’m aware of.

Average gaming keyboard polling rate is 1,000Hz.

Average desktop keyboards can have polling rates as low as 125hz.

Sometimes it’s not a skill issue at all.

Sometimes it really is the trolling causing issues for other players that their hardware can’t compensate for during low frame rate and high lag. 20-50 people in a 20yrd area with 5-15 targetable toys out, literally on top of the portal, can cause issues for players that don’t have the equipment to handle all of it.

I’m not having issues getting tags.
Others are because of the unmitigated trolling.
What about those players? Don’t they matter?

If dropping targetable toys on/near primary targets during group content is acceptable behavior, it would be acceptable in ALL group content.

Target dummies are put down so people can cleave the goblin when he comes out because he is difficult to target (you start hitting the dummy with your cleaves a few seconds before he spawns and you are guaranteed a tag.) These aren’t people out to get you. EVERYONE lags when there are 100 people and you have your spell effects on ultra, whether its from people hitting a target dummy or people just hitting the goblin. My 3070 hit 26 FPS the first time I did him in org, and there was only 1 target dummy down.

I had no problem with it,I just aoed everything.

To be perfectly clear; I think everyone should be able to have fun at these type of events.

If a certain segment of the player base enjoys the “target dummy on the portal” type of entertainment then they can be sharded together so they can play with like minded players.

The event logs should make those players easy to ID and flag for future reference so they can be sharded for any new events.

Then everyone would be able to enjoy these events much more.
