I couldn’t possibly think of anything going on in the world that could maybe limit the reach and availability of GMs.

I’m going to go out on a limb here, but if you were Alliance and earned “Horde Slayer”:
If you faction change to Horde, you never earned “Alliance Slayer.” Meanwhile, it would not make sense to be Horde and still have “Horde Slayer.”
The issue seems to be that you would really have to kill the guys, to get the opposite title.
Some more research on what titles/etc. are lost, if you faction change, probably would have been good before doing it.
