I knew we would always have a strong voice, due to various threads I have seen over the years as well as the massive volume and numbers replacement sound files and add-ons get all the time. I love it though! :slight_smile:

I donā€™t think itā€™s really all that unusual or strange. We hear these sounds tens of thousands of times over the course of playing the game, so if some of them irk you itā€™s a pretty big deal, but the sound also adds a lot to the game so you donā€™t want to use the ā€œsledgehammerā€ option of disabling sound altogether.

yeah I cant play in silence I dont understand the people that play with no sound at all

Ias others mentioned, it wasnā€™t editing anything. We altered nothing in the game files and there were a bunch of ā€œaddonsā€ that did this same thing and were approved for use.

Now Blizz better give us this feature back.

Itā€™s annoying yes, but if it bothers you to the point of not playing then I suggest muting sound all together?? Seems kinda sillyā€¦that or you really really donā€™t care about playing WoW and if thatā€™s so then why get so upset?

Thereā€™s a huge difference between muting some sounds versus having no sounds. This is an axis of customization that has been part of the game for many years that was nuked for no good reason.

Thank you all for providing the addon and the file tools to look for the sound files. This was game breaking for me and I can enjoy my warriors again without the massively annoying 4 seconds long idiotic yells during charge.

I just want to change my sounds again to something usable not a damn pop gun. Bimsy people like u that say stupid stuff like that are part of the problem. IF you dont get it dont even bother posting here

I Just want my playsoundfile macros to work again i have a ton of the boss voices on macros and now they are all broken.

i believe you just have to change them to use the number ids.

try posting a couple here and Im sure someone can figure it out.

lol that was something I did as a joke I said the only thing more annoying then jainas dialog between 2nd and 3rd bosses was the dialog in a 1970 porno film. So I got some sound bites and replaced her dialog with them and it was so funny cuz well she repeats like the same 4 lines over and over like a stuck record

I never even though to mod the sound filesā€¦ I knew people had do it to models but not sounds. I would agree that the sounds in the game are rather bland for the most part.

Still waiting for a follow-up reply on this by devs. I will try Tweeting to a couple places, but I doubt it will help. Keep up the good fight, guys! Donā€™t let this thread or this one UI Changes in Rise of Azshara die until we have answers.

I think our ā€œreplyā€ was the mini patch that enabled the above addon to work.

Now we just need an API where we can override sounds in a similar fashion. Using an addon to specify a sound ID then putting in the name of the file we want to override it with in the WoW/Sounds folder.
