Wrath is above ALOT of xpan for ALOT of people. But its gonna be a big downfall for Blizzard if they don’t watch what they are doing. Wrath was Blizzards biggest xpan ever, that is when the player based peaked at its highest and well… Those numbers never really came back till now. As far as your question about mage, I have no idea.
It’s not perfect but it’s fun, more fun than retail.
Now all I can think about is how blizzard will ruin this… probably with cata classic…
I like to think there is confusing people that play this game… 1 side says its fun to RUN to dungeons and talk to people in a group while in a dungeon mean while your there to get gear/xp, OR your struggling with that dungeon as a group which is OD because bosses take seconds to kill.
2 side, RDF gets added you que as you quest or que for the xp an level that way, and you can still speak to people? Don’t have to run to dungeons for 15-20mins vs popping in the dungeon an with that 15-20min run, your already done with the dungeon?
Cata will be fine. It’s this RDF argue thats already showing a affect. Alot of people enjoyed RDF because they could level their alts without having to press rewind 10times in questing…
Wrath will break records again. It’s in its finest form right now.
Doomsaying ain’t doing nothing but running you off to play watery retail.
You list yourself as a minority. But ya’ll are the loudest screamers when it comes to the dungeon finder.
That tool made wrath BETTER. Some realms do NOT have the population others do. Getting a group together takes far to long. The dungeon finder tool made it possible for anyone to group.
Just like today, you can still form a group and go to the dungeon. You are not forced to use the dungeon finder tool. And for mythic +, you have to summon folks and run into the dungeon.
The queue system is far better in retail because its spread amongst multiple servers. Dungeon finder reached across battle groups of old.
Dungeon finder ROCKED. The fact that the vocal minority in this conversation won the debate, and blizzard opted to keep it out, is really sad. It will kill the less populated servers.
Prior to the announcement of wrath, there were in the single digits in the main city of my realm on classic BC. That goes for Shattrath and Stormwind. Thats how low the playerbase was. That is how NEEDED dungeon finder is.
Transferring to a more populated server is not available, as they’ve locked transfers to the populated servers.
So essentially, we’re screwed. Being anti-dungeon finder is freaking ridiculous.
Content stale - absolutely. Watery? You haven’t raided much, have you? The raids of new are far more ridiculously harder than the raids of old.
This is just nonsense. A lie. You return to world of warcraft in it’s “classic” form because “RDF Won’t be a feature”.
Westfall is a populated server. Form your groups on the likes of Bloodsail, or some other low population server. They start out “high” and then people jump ship.
Then blizzard locks transfers to high population servers.
The whole thing is garbage, including your logic behind why you came back. You came back for nostalgia. BC and Wrath were the best of what WoW was. INCLUDING the dungeon finder tool, released mid-wrath.
Blaming RDF for the games downfall is ludicrous. All games lose player bases over time, it’s just the nature of the beast. The fact that blizzard has retained over 1million active players is amazing for retail, and going strong for almost 20 years.
There are multiple reasons the population left. Most just get tired of the game. Making up crap doesn’t help solve a damned thing.
As someone who really got onto the forums to find info and express disappointment with a decision that was based on hot air, that is the reaction I received from anti-rdfers. “Go play retail” “Learn what an MMO is” “git GUD n00B” is all I heard. Anti-RDF responses aren’t the picture of rosie saints trying to enjoy the game.
I have been playing the game. From Vanilla all the way to the current xpac, and Classic all the way till now. And instead of maybe telling people to get over it cause there’s nothing wrong with the game for you in the same breath you’re accusing someone else of being toxic, maybe have a discussion about a compromise, like most of the pro-RDF people I know are willing to make.
And for what it’s worth, not a single person in my hardcore raiding guild likes the LFG tool and universally wants the RDF.
This release of Wrath Retail, is written on retail code, with so many changes borrowed from retail, this isn’t the burn you think it is.
Have fun playing watery retail Wrath.
Retail feels like an arcade game. Throw some quarters in and hit 47 buttons that have 9000 modifiers on them.
It really feels horrible when you get new gear upgrades in retail and still don’t feel that impact.
Classic nails this.
Not really a burn, there’s a reason why classic is stomping on retail….
You don’t get to say how I feel. Why are you so upset I like the game? Why are you throwing a tantrum because I like the way it exists now?
Take it up with blizzard. I like the game the way it is now. I’m glad they are ignoring you.
Again, you don’t get to dictate how other people feel just because you’re a miserable self entitled angry person.
I disagree with you. Blizzard disagrees with you. RDF is garbage. I’m glad they are ignoring you and released a great game.
You’re wrong.
I don’t have to answer your questions. I’m not going to summarize conversations for you having run hundreds of dungeons. You seem to think I owe you some sort of validation. I don’t have any vested interest into whether you believe my experiences. The game has been great for “me”. That’s all I really worry about.
I don’t care about whether it’s a majority or minority. Blizzard made a choice with pretty strong conviction. I agree with it. I like the game. It’s a great release in the current form. Those of you that don’t like it shouldn’t suffer anymore. Go do something YOU like. I’ll still be here enjoying this great release.
But RDF is not in the game and the people who don’t like it are enjoying the game. This release is for those of us who don’t like it. Blizzard hasn’t released a version of the game you like so don’t play right now? Or play their new expansion. This isn’t for you? That’s okay… move on and do something you enjoy?
Because Wrath xpan is my fav xpan an i don’t wanna see it go down hill (BECAUSE ITS SOMETHING “YOU” LIKE). Correct you don’t owe me anything but making a post about it on the forums and thinking your not gonna get a Conversation about it “which you love so much” Makes zero sense. And thinking that the outcome is great now because there is a new xpan which is the best one. Later down the line… It’s gonna drop because of this. I don’t feel like having to go threw /4 spam an questing 10 alts threw the same quest. You seem to think this is GREATTTTT, but its not.
My point still stands and with you not backing your side up with anything valid means they need to change this. I have yet to speak to anyone who think RDF that shouldn’t be here give me a good reason or a point.
With that your forum is useless and opinion is about the same.
Thanks for trying to kill the best Xpan, which may work.
Your trying to pin a vs match btw classic an retail is funny an also makes zero sense seeing as how many people also play retail an classic? So your point here is invalid.
Without RDF, you won’t be able to spam random heroic dungeons.
Since those have a lockout, it’s gonna make getting preraid bis take much longer.
That’s all this “anti RDF” stuff is about. Every change they’ve made has been to make things take longer.
Well this gets shut down LOL because WE as a guild already spam it? BECAUSE thats your “social aspect” Which also heroic’s are not that rough? I don’t understand how people see them as hard because they already think that adding RDF is gonna make it easy? when its already there? I’m gonna give wrath about a month or two for them to rethink their choice. If not i will be out myself. Because once my main is geared there is no point. And IAM NOT leveling a alt threw /4 and the new LFG is well BAD.
I see people say this a lot about how the game used to be. Of course you and them are very much wrong.
What you’re talking about is almost always used as a form of bias and discrimination against players. Somebody only needs to make a claim against you in a ‘top’ guild and the next thing you know more than half the server will black list you as a problem player. Even if it’s not credible and you never did anything.
Allowing communities to police themselves always degenerates into a popularity contest, and the most popular people, get to determine who the problem people are. It’s not about being an ethical or decent person. It’s about getting people to like you or need you.
And are you trying to convince us that not allowing people to speed run their way to prepaid BiS in the first week is somehow bad?
Vice versa buddy. This entire debate is based on subjective preferences and opinions on what makes a good mmorpg. You will not get a scientific thesis of empirical proofs on neither sides.
Some of us don’t consider it down hill. We consider it an improvement. Luckily Blizzard agrees with us.
I posted about liking the game. I don’t have to explain to you why.
That won’t happen.
I like how it works now.
You’re wrong. We don’t have to justify liking something. We don’t owe you anything. Blizzard doesn’t either. They released a great game in its current form for players like me.
Won’t be dead since it’s great and people will continue to like it and play it.
I’m okay with that. I’m not in a hurry. I think the hurry up mechanics are what contributed to the declining interest in retail and I don’t want them to do it again.
This will improve the community
No we aren’t.
Never happened on any of the realms I played on.
