Feel like you’re making up a strawman, or at least putting an argument in my mouth that I’m not saying.
Pointing out that running the same key levels as you ran in Dragonflight now gives worse rewards (and if you’re not running 9s, there’s really no reason to run anything other than 4s which wasn’t the case in previous seasons) is not “people not accepting they’re not as good as they think they are”
There are likely characters who will end up getting the 0.1% title who aren’t even level capped yet.
Hello, I see you replied to the thread. Game had a better, more natural progression back then! While people were progressing in Naxx, there were guilds progressing through BWL! Seasons in an MMO are stupid, haha!
Thanks for your post and have a great day!
Demonology being in a tough spot at the moment has nothing to do with the Mythic Plus scaling or reward structure though. If anything, I am surprised because no volcanic/quaking means you actually can turret a lot more now than previous seasons and no sanguine means Destruction warlocks won’t have weeks that they just can’t AoE.
Demonology is just demonology at the moment, I play affliction on my warlock and it feels good being effectively immortal most of the time and having a good set of CDs for keys now, so if it is a spec problem, that is different from a game-wide system problem.
I agree that the toxicity has increased, but I think a majority of it is due to the new death mechanics. Pug groups after 1 wipe feel that they wont get high enough score and tend to fall apart. You also are going to more apt to fit the classes you need now then before knowing how much of a punishment a wipe will cause.
Comparing the end of s3 (notoriously free io season) of an expansion to the first WEEKS of an expansion is absolutely asinine.
Especially when they made mythic plus less free, but still–you’re manufacturing a delta here.
Yup yup. Was a friend I raided with, they were a really good DK who also did character art of Brakka who was healing on their shaman. A worm metamorphosis went off and it was instakilling people, they hit astral recall instead of the shaman rez. Was funny but still timed despite it all.
I was being sincere when I said good for you, but whatever. Go farm yourself some pet battles, you’ll forget I even said anything.
Oh good for them.
I had some guy in my mythic+ leave on first trash pull cause he said “dps not good enough lol” fun times
It does have to do with my having fun, however, and it’s a decisively egregious impact.
The issues with the reward structure were explained better by Mist a few posts above:
Going from what we had to what we have now just feels terrible.
Its also because there is no on ramp to M+ anymore, and its very frustrating to try and play.
Before you had that on ramp of 2-10 to figure things out and have the good quality players move forward.
Now its just do or die, and its miserable.
But the thing was, there were breakpoints where if you weren’t running X it was best to run Y instead in the old system. Saying they didn’t exist was false.
In S3, you ran 6s for Drakes, 11s for Wyrms, then the last 3 keys that mattered before portal was 16 (Easiest Aspect crests), 17 (Easiest Hero gear), and 18 (easiest myth vault). Every other key from 2-20 besides those 5 were either dead keys or people pushing to one of the breakpoints or small amounts of rating.
Is that captured on 25th week of the Season?
And the TWW captured data is just the 3rd week?
There would be more KSH and KSM on the 25th week of TWW.
Your data is all wrong.
I did provide an update to the data with the start of Week 4 for Dragonflight Season 3 to the post above.
My mistake. I have one friend that calls me “bud”, and I usually see it tossed around differently. Apologies for the mistake of intent. Have a great night.
And its all wrong. Your capture of DF is on its End Season… around 25th to 30th week.
And your TWW Season 1 data is just on the 3rd Week.
There would be more KSH and KSM on TWW’s 25th week.
I’m not saying breakpoints don’t exist, I’m saying going from the way things worked in S4, and by rough approximation of scaling according to blizzard S3, of DF to the way things work in S1 of TWW feels terrible. It feels bad because you receive less for the same amount of work that previously would have rewarded you more.
Thing is our disagreement isn’t reconcilable. We disagree on the fundamental matter of people being able to get good gear. You care that they were able to get it at the levels they did in seasons prior, I don’t care that they were able to get it at the levels they did in seasons prior, hence we’ll probably never be able to reach common ground or agree on most anything thereabout.
No one owes anything to you. This game is an entertainment product, not a tool for you to enforce your idea of how life should be run onto strangers who want nothing to do with you, your way of gameplay, and your way of thinking about your fellow human beings.
The majority of players in every game are those who play as a pastime. If that bothers you and you want to force them to make whatever commitment it will take to become competitors, that’s a you thing. You can’t force people to be entertained by what you want them to have to do in their spare time.
Those people are paying the bills for your content. You should be thankful you don’t have to pay those costs yourself, because there aren’t enough elite gamers in the gaming universe who want to play wow to cover the costs if you make the game so unfun all the casuals quit.
