Current M+ difficulty is not good for player retention

It really was. Depleted easy 8s giving mythic raid loot was crazy value.

There is nothing in the vault that will be an upgrade. Thats the issue. Meanwhile the gap between people who are mythic raiding and getting pieces there as well as the vault is causing an even larger gap.

  • Less than 7 and you get rewards from delves so there is no reason to run them.
  • 7-8 is kind of pugable but the failure rate is extremely high right now and getting worse over the last two weeks. If your dps you are going to be sitting in que from 20 min to 1.5 hours before getting into a group. The exception is if you are one of the meta classes.
  • 9 Impossible to pug into for the most part unless you are at least 616-619ilvl and above 2.2K or higher IO and are meta.
  • 10 Unless its your own key you can expect to never get an invite even for completions and as a meta class and roll even having timed a +9 because the massive increase in difficulty has the lower skilled mythic raiders gated here and its flooded with them. So its far to competitive to break into.

This seasons break points are nothing like any previous season and it forces 90% or better of the player base into the same 3 key levels without a decent way to tell the players apart. Its part of why people are going so hard based on class and comp.

I donā€™t want just easy content or gear. I want to log in and be able to choose if I want to relax and help carry guildies through content or if I want to push. Right now there is no choice, we are back to guildies are on their own because I canā€™t carry and any content Iā€™m doing is requiring 100% effort on my part. Its been three weeks and I havenā€™t even done my 8 this week and Iā€™m burnt out.

I made the decision today that Iā€™m pretty much capped on gear already for the season so after the anniversary which has old mogs I donā€™t have Iā€™ll probably be done with the game till next patch or at best Iā€™ll raid log, not because I enjoy raiding but because I donā€™t want to leave my guild without a tank.

Honestly in 20 years I donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever felt this down on the game.

This season isnā€™t the best for mythic+ but we should remain optimistic. The 20th anniversary will be fun easy rewards and by the time thatā€™s over maybe itā€™ll be better.

Yeah Iā€™m trying not to be a Negative Nancy we have enough of those in the world.

Iā€™ve been thinking about trying to make a wow youtube channel for bears and maybe a bad season will give me the time to learn to edit video and voice as well as go through the backlog of M+ I recorded over the last couple of weeks.

I do think for mythic raiders and people with coordinated groups most of the issues Iā€™ve run into arenā€™t present for them, so at least its not going to kill off M+ entirely.

Iā€™m 618 with 2200 on my ret and Iā€™m getting declined from 80% of 7 keys just to fill vault. I canā€™t imagine trying to get into 10s right now, lol.

Keys are so unforgiving, just letting a few casts get off and itā€™s wipe-city. I donā€™t blame the healer, because pretty sure they are not supposed to heal through 2+ packs being pulled with most casts going off.

Thatā€™s good to know. I have formed some of my own 7 and 8 keys, but I was seeing scores right around mine or even under 2000. I was wondering if itā€™s retribution hate or something else, and Iā€™m glad to see itā€™s likely that higher scores and better gear are applying also.

eh, m+ is #$%$ atm & group finding is pushing me to raid log and play warframe/rocket league vs spending time in m+. already canceled my sub, 3.5 weeks left. the fact they moved rewards from 6ā€™s to 9ā€™s from s4 going into s1 is absolutely brainless. rewards arenā€™t worth my effort. ill play something else.

and that is ignoring the garbage dungeon lineup. we have two dungeons with ā€œcityā€ in the name and they put them in the same lineup. brainless.

Not being good enough to clear the harder content for better rewards isnā€™t ā€œartificialā€ lol.

Why do you believe they have made it so much harder to access mythic track gear and so much more difficult to collect the upgrade crests in this expansion if not to prolong the gearing process?

I wonder how many players would spend all season in the 6-8 bracket trying to get all mythic gear just to be completionists, not because they ā€œneededā€ the gear per se.

And I wonder how many of them will feel capped at 4s now and just quit the game once they hit 619 instead of playing the weekly mythic-track vault slot machine.

Again, 619 is more than enough to comfortably time 9s. These threads ultimately boil down to the simplest and most powerful phrase in the game: skill issue.
