Hey folks. Cold today so staying bundled inside. Off work tomorrow so after my blood draw that’ll be it for the day.
Mentally not in great shape but think that’s just going to be a constant now. Giving up thinking that’s going to get any better. Just kinda accepting it. I don’t want to share details here anymore since it seems to just derail everything.
Guess I should be thankful for being in good health. Well, ‘good’ as can be.
Probably spamming all these BGs isn’t helping, but my alt needs gear and that’s the most efficient way for it, in the way that it’s not a giant slot machine.
It took me almost two hours, but I finally have the latest Firefox looking like it did before I updated today. So glad Mozilla finally did the right thing and made a Firefox Color addon. From there it was mostly taking a screenshot I had of the previous browser setup and using an eyedropper tool in MS Paint to get the color values.
For the menubar and inactive tab colors I had to use the eyedropper, then pick a color to modify in color.firefox.com (I chose Background Color as it was easy to spot visually), put the eyedropper’s R/G/B values in, copy the hex value next to them once I did that, and then put that into my userChrome.css file for the two aforementioned objects since they had no corresponding value in Firefox’s color setup.
Now my eye won’t wig out every time I look near my tab bar. Below is a pic showing the various options available via the Firefox Color addon, which you need to interact with color.firefox.com for anyone interested in modding their FF UI.
Protip: If you use this to change your Firefox UI color scheme, in between each successful edit, click Save in the window, that way if you goof up the next edit, you’ll be able to easily revert by clicking Saved Themes. Your most recent saved theme will be in the upper left corner of that frame. Once you’ve finalized your theme, you can click Export and save it to your computer. You can do either, or both, but .xpi should allow you to simply right click → open with → Firefox (or Firefox Nightly as I use) and boom, instant theme for Firefox on any of your other devices or if you have to start a new profile from scratch for any reason.
It was tasty! Not what I’d consider great food, but it was fast and it was food.
I had a burrito. The previous times I’d tried Taco Bell, I went with tacos but … the tacos were seriously underfilled. It may had been an issue with a location – it was in a busy mall food court.
Meh. I usually go by “it fills the void”. And by the void, I mean the abyss and everything surrounding it. And it’s a step above McDonald’s (except for the greasy part).
I’m a bean burrito addict. I’m pretty sure it’s the enchilada sauce they put in them. And yeah - it’s fast, and it’s food.
Pretty cold out here this morning. We’re at -0° (wait - what?). And I decided my warm bed was a better option than our morning walk, though the sky was crystal clear. We’ll just take a long walk after my short day of work. This is one of the two federal holidays we work, though we’re at a reduced staff level. It’ll be warmer then - +7°. The UP has a extreme cold warning - parts of the Lake Superior coast will have wind chills below -40. If I lived up there, poor Onyx would have to go back to using a litterbox (yes, she’s litter trained - so strange!).
tidies up a bit, adding coffee, hot water, coffee, and some fresh pastries and fruit. Oh - forgot the coffee.
Wait, did Blizzard end your season prematurely, roll it back and now your temps are negative until they’ve gone higher than they were when the season ended abruptly?
Also, I just had a hangnail I had to pull out. I can take a knee to the corner of my desk, go “ouch” (ok, it’s really actually Geralt of Rivia’s favorite word…), go about my day, but a hangnail brings rivers of tears almost instantly.
Actual air temp here is -13°F (-25°C) with a feels like of -31°F (-35°C). A couple degrees colder and the Fahrenheit and Celsius scales meet.
Now I sit back and wait for the Canadians to call me on my hubris.
My dad called me yesterday from his home in NW Florida to tell me about the cold weather warning that had been issued there - temps were expected to drop to the mid 40’s. I hung up on him.
Good morning all. Very chilly here, although not as cold as it is where some of you are! Our snow storm was a bust. Only an inch or two at most. Pretty, but not a lot of it.
/Tidies up the lounge, checks the beverage counter: puts out fresh hot coffee vats, cocoa and toppings, hot water for tea, and creamers/toppings. The food counter looks a bit empty so puts out a hot hearty breakfast. Waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, toasts and jams, fresh fruit, bagels, and muffins. There are also healthy snacks like yogurt, or oatmeal. Most importantly, fills the baskets with fresh warm blankets, stokes the fire, and fluffs the pillow fort.
It’s 10° F here but may get that cold tomorrow morning. I’m having a few days’ vacation so other than taking out the trash I can avoid going out in it if I want. Vacation plans involve a chuck roast, tandoori chicken, testing if the tandoori chicken recipe works with tofu, aloo gobi, and another experiment with Japanese curry. (I’ve made it with boxed curry blocks but want to try with my own spices because the box is expensive.) Oh, and beans or chili or both depending on my energy level and what’s in the freezer.
You might have mentioned it previously, but this makes me think we live in at least the same approximate geographic region. They really were telling us that from noon yesterday until about now we were supposed to get 6-8 inches of snow.
If we got two, I’d be surprised. And we’re not getting out of the teens until Friday so it’s going to be SUPER cold this week.
And I’ve managed to Geralt myself quite loudly three times already this morning, not counting the hangnail. Methinks I’m just about done for the day. At least my frostmaiden got a Burrito in D2R, so my playtime was actually rewarded for a change.
Now to decide if I want to upgrade the Burrito to the whole Enchilada or save the runes for something shinier.
