grabs a bit of the bacon. Danke Mirasol.
Finally getting into the holiday spirit, Iâm watching Die Hard!
The only appropriate Christmas movie.
Ever since the last time change, I just canât get into the time flow. 6pm feels like 9pm to me. The days just drag and drag. Ugh! thinking about them being longer makes me wonder if I will ever get back into time! Iâm probably just bored.
I will have a lot more stuff to do in January though. Time to start photographing my webcomic again, which means less WoW time for the next few months while I make the panels and add the dialogue and all the fun stuff that goes to running that. I think the days will feel faster then.
That means the days are going to get shorter here
I love long days, but I hate the daylight savings that goes with it.
YES! Pick one and stick with it. I prefer Daylight Savings time. Just leave it there all year and stop switching!
you and me bothâŠ
Everything in Broodtwisterâs room has a hatâŠ
Yay Texas won
We are switching over from Wintergreen to Peppermint tonight. I like the mints but it gets so concentrated in here itâs like being inside a bottle of Vicks vapor rub. Halp
At my place of employ where we similarly make confectionary goods, but not on the mass-market level as you. We offer a Chocolate Mint fudge and it is all anyone (save for the unfortunate soul making it) can do to not be around that stove when the peppermint oil goes in. The moment that stuff hits the open air, your eyes are watering immediately and your sinuses burning.
2-4 tablespoons of the stuff, clears the place right out in a 30-foot radius.
Better then what I have to do. I need to transfer my dentistâs setup to a new computer and try to make it so she doesnât have to learn everything new. Well, itâs coming from a former server turned regular PC running Windows 10 to a new BOSGAME mini PC running Windows 11. Now thankfully the mini PC has a chipset and CPU old enough to run Windows 10 so Iâm just going to move my dentistâs OS to the new computer after booting the new PC once to get Windows 11âs product key since it isnât on a sticker anywhere in the box, move Win 10 via Acronisâ universal restore feature, update the OS to Win 11 and put in the product key.
Then I get to come home and use sandpaper all over me to get those nasty Windows 11 cooties off of meâŠ
Well, at least nobody will get whammed with that.
My work started playing Christmas music the day after Thanksgiving, of course, but when itâs not holiday music, theyâre making some strange choices. Old stuff I havenât heard in ages. The other morning we had Rocky Raccoon, which I think most will agree was not one of the Beatlesâ top ten songs. Probably not even top 50.
My radio station plays âthe best of the 80s, 90s and whatever,â but theyâve been stuck on Huey Lewis and the News lately. Like every time Iâm in the car - and I have a short commute. Itâs weird.
Well, looks like someone found another example of the classic saying: If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
Ever wonder how all those free coupon code browser extensions can afford their marketing budget? Turns out itâs not just collecting and selling your data, itâs also affiliate link fraud.

Faizon Love soooooo underappreciated in this movie.

The band we had in college did a cover of Rocky Raccoon. One of only two songs they let me sing.

Aaaaaaaaand I can forget bothering to do the âupgradeâ to this new computer for the dentist. Now I see why it booted up so slowly. Its base CPU frequency is half of her 2012 Dell T3600 computer (the one that used to be the previous dentistâs server before he switched to the jet engine sitting in the server rack now). 1.9 Ghz is not sufficient and is actually below spec for both Practiceworks and OpenDental when factoring in Windows 11âs CPU needs.
Iâll just offer to build her a new computer. She doesnât need a blazing fast system that can run Starfield, but she needs a hell of a lot more than what she bought (that 1.9 Ghz is what sheâll see almost all the time because the chassis is so small itâll never see usable boost clocks for more than a few seconds).
Ugh. At least Iâm good at building systems. Iâm seeeeeeeeriously tempted to offer her my 9900k build for $700 thatâll last her for years as itâll have 64 GB RAM, a Corsair 1200 AXi PSU, and she can use any GPU she wants me to get her. Or the IGP if she doesnât want to spend money on a GPU. Plus she can reuse her current SSDs as she wonât necessarily even notice NVMe speeds with office workloads. Hell, itâs fast enough to just be a server if she really wants it to. Thatâd give me the funds to get a 12th gen Intel system and much newer PCIe setups.
So glad I decided to double check her systemâs specs.

Good morning people!!
I still havenât wrapped presents yet. Watch me wait until midnight on the 24th to remember.
Anyway here is some coffee and donuts to get people started this morningâŠ
I am that donut today! About to go make a second cup of coffee.
Visit with my sisterâs family went better than expected. I honestly think it is the best visit I ever had with them. Mostly because I finally had something in common to talk to my bro in law about, and my nieceling is old enough to have things in common too. The child is a bookworm. A fantasy and historical fiction bookworm. My sister did not tell me really. I know why⊠she does not want her daughter to turn out like me. Which honestly is NOT THAT BAD! So, I had a fantastic time talking through my library and sent her home with books. Chronicles of Narnia and the first LotR book (I have at least 3 copies so she can keep that one). She has read the Hobbit, and is into other similar series. She just did not have that yet. I foresee many years of talking books with her!
I think she is afraid I will introduce the child to WoW⊠I would do Palia firstâŠor maybe WoW.
