[CS Lounge] Winter Veil Cheer - Cozy Up with Hot Cocoa

well, last week, ordered 2 microcomputers, 4k Roku TV, and a 7 cubic foot Deep Freezer, all coming in Wednesday. My delivery guy is gonna be sore.

I might bake some Chocolate chip cookies and give him some.

Same here. It was pretty easy to impress this 9-1/2 year old kid, but when my mother was equally amazed, I knew it was something special.

Of the saga:
4-6 were clearly the best
7-9 were good
1-3 were meh

But overall: Rogue One was the best of all the one’s I’ve seen.

Now that sounds like a perfect thing to do for your delivery person! How nice! It also reminds me I should be getting a Chewy order this week. I always feel bad for them on that day. Cat litter and cat food is not light.

Today is the ONE day that it is not going to be below freezing so I am going to try very hard to get out of the house and head over to the grocery store. One of them has pasta on sale for $0.88 for a 1 lb box which is a very good price. I need to inventory and see what I need for the year. Esp rotini for pasta salad in summer and other such things.

Hope work goes well! Just remember to forgive yourself when you make mistakes which we all do! Esp when it has been a while since you did something.

Same! I got my DK to 80 last night which gives me 4 total. Quite a few more to go. I was up too late rounding out the gearing. Siren Aisle is quite nice for filling in gaps in gear on new 80 alts.

I did get some sleep last night which is in a improvement. Brain is being stupid.

/* Sweeps away the cups and clutter from the weekend. Vacuums, dusts, shines, and polishes. Fluffs the pillows, stokes the fire, fills the candy dishes. Sets out fresh hot coffee vats, cocoa, hot water for tea, assorted teas, creamers, toppings, and syrups. Refills the gnome pool, refills the fresh roasted coffee bean containers at the make-your-own coffee station. Bring your own personal coffee maker and choose from a nice selection of beans you can grind right there!*

Yes, I did build that station in Palia once it came up in here. I also took down the Winterveil tree and the stockings over the main lounge fireplace.

Rogue One was actually pretty good, and it did tell the story very well of some of the events between Episode 3 and Episode 4.

For some reason, Palia won’t load for me. I’ll get the loading screen when opening up the game, then nothing will happen :sob:

The plot was weak. It needed more context. It felt like it was a square peg being jammed into a round hole. A connection we knew is supposed to work but wasn’t anyway.

That and Natale looked like she didn’t want to be there. Especially in #3.

You gotta stomp those hooves to make a point now and then.

Just bringing over so I don’t derail.

We’re out of coffee. I drank it all.

You even emptied the gnome swimming pool (more like hot tub), didn’t you!?

/Heads off to the Lounge kitchen to make more coffee Thankfully we have the gourmet fresh roast station where you can grind your own and brew single servings. That should keep you busy for a bit.*

What can I say

It’s cold - like 20°, with a wind chill of 2. And it’s not exactly warm inside (mom and I both generally like it around 65 or lower (I can always add a layer - can’t always take 'em off). I took Onyx for a short walk, then shoveled our 15-20 feet long driveway. I’m dying now.

You think that’s cold, parts of Canada are expecting as cold as -50 this next week. A bit cold for dog shedding, but perfect temp for Warcraft.

Winters in Missouri had colder days than we do here in Michigan. And I could deal with single digit temps without wind. But even properly dressed, when the wind starts blowing
 Brr.

I DID IT! I left the house. Nothing bad happened. I also did take advantage of the sale on pasta to stock up. Fresh veggies and dairy were also acquired!

On my list to make soon:

  • Lasagna type pasta bake with spirals. Same concept, easier pasta. I got all the cheeses for it today as well as peppers and mushrooms. I like veggies in it.
  • Pork roast with a whole seed mustard and rosemary rub. Making hot cabbage, apple, onion, slaw on the side. It uses a bit of bacon to cook the onions in and some cider vinegar as well.

Eggs were crazy expensive. Not buying.

We used to do something similar, called it pasta in a pot. And that pork roast sounds pretty nice, too.

And “Hearty Lasagna Soup:”

1 lb ground beef
1/4 c chopped onion
1 t minced garlic
1/4 t dried parsley flakes
32 oz Beef Broth
14.5 oz diced tomatoes
1/4 t Italian seasoning
1 1/2 c uncooked broken lasagna noodles (or whatever pasta you have on hand)
1/4 c Parmesan cheese

Cook beef, onion, garlic, and parsley in a 6 qt saucepan until beef is well cooked. Drain.
Stir broth, tomatoes, and Italian seasoning and heat to boiling.
Add noodles. Cook for 10 minutes, until noodles are tender. Stir in cheese. Season to taste.

Work went well. I had to bow out a bit early but was up and about for over six hours on my feet. New record for me. Can only get stronger as time goes.

People have been hyper nice and accommodating to me, and think I have it handled. Someone who works in the area I’ve been in close conversation with has a group she’s part of, a Christian support/study group, and they all got together and got me this big gift basket, complete with a webcam so they can see me during sessions.

The sheer generosity brought me nearly to tears right then and there. It was just so, so nice of them. Part of my brain was acting up about it since it’s hard for me to just have things without feeling like I can pay it right back, but think I will try to pay it forward, much like people did for me.

Don’t have to do any hospital stuffs tomorrow, just work tomorrow morning so should go smoothly.

Well, one root canal later I am home from the Dentist. Just waiting to see how I feel when the Novocain wears off. :grimacing:

Sounds like you’ve found a great bunch of people, and some support.
