[CS Lounge] Winter Veil Cheer - Cozy Up with Hot Cocoa

Speaking of micro computers, I’ve been looking at this thing:

I think this could make a great tool – sometimes I don’t want a whole laptop but a tablet just isn’t enough.

Pis are available with 16GB onboard now.

Plus I think it’d look super cute with a fold-over leather cover. I could pretend it’s a tricorder. <.<

Why’d you have to show that to me?

Everyone needs a tricorder. <.<

There is a danger with these over-successful KS though – a lot of times creators are ready to produce, for example, a hundred devices. When you scale it up a couple of degrees, things can get iffier.

Well now I have to hurry up and watch it so I can go see what everyone’s saying about it. But I do appreciate the spoiler blurs.

I just now rewatched the original - A New Hope, I mean, though it wasn’t called that when I first saw it - not because it was next on my list, but because I had other stuff to do. So I needed a story I knew well enough to follow while not looking at the screen too closely. Not sure any of them will ever beat the original for me. Don’t know how much that is about the objective qualities of the movie and how much is the nostalgia of an impressionable 11 year old, but there it is.

Same. I can remember the excitement and amazement of seeing it in the theater. Jaw-dropping.

So do my parents. They saw it twice on opening night. Four hours in line both times.

Best movie is Rogue One.

Just watch it last night.

Prequels: Tried to do a Shakespearian tragedy, but missed hard, getting stuck in meme-land.
Original Trilogy: classic hero’s journey.
Sequels: 7 was just 4 with a fresh coat of paint, 8 and 9 tried to be different, but didn’t quite have the character/world development to back it up.
Rogue One: Oh wait: there are actually people in this universe?
Solo: explaining the noodle incident.

Of the ones I’d seen, Rogue One was my favourite.

I probably would have seen it twice if it had been up to me!

My grandparents, on the other hand, got up and walked out halfway through because they thought it was so silly, or so I’ve been told. Granddad was wounded in action a couple of times in WW2 in the Pacific - maybe after that much real war, fantasy war just doesn’t do it for you?

Bit is it the coffee kicking in or the illusion that the coffee is working.

Both are good.

Without that plot we wouldn’t have episodes 4-9. :stuck_out_tongue:

Morning folks, up nice and early.

Rushing to get my weekly blood draw done. Talked to the receptionist about rhe missing test my coordinator has got on me about (and not the labs…) and she said they’ve been doing them.

So I dunno. :upside_down_face:

Anyway, done real early, waiting to go back into work. Probably have to retrain and everything but like everything else, small steps!

Sorry, posting on phone and hit send early when I was called.

“Happy” Monday.

We almost turned around on our walk this morning. It wasn’t too cold, but oi! The wind was something else. We just made a couple minor adjustments to our route so we wouldn’t have to spend a bunch of time walking into the wind. That helped a bit.

Got another character to 80 over the weekend. I only have something like four or five left to get to max level (out of 35-40). I should really think about paring that down and just running one of each class or something.
