Exactly! That is why I was surprised to see it already posted and it is not even snowing yet! Kids get an extra day of winter break which they must love.

It was kind of fun to jump up and hope for school to be closed though. That was almost exciting and that hope then joy was one of the best things about snow days.

My mom was a teacher - we knew way ahead of time.

When I was in Missouri, they usually erred on the side of caution. I mean, I knew I could handle a few inches of snow, but I also knew nobody else had any business being on the road. So when the weather hit, I also stayed in unless I really needed White Castle.

The kids around here had the Friday before Christmas Break off due to snow.

I lived in Austin, TX for 17 years. If there was even a suggestion of ice those schools were closed and the grocery stores raided faster than Kara in 2007.

A recipe for making chicken soup when you have low energy.

  1. Discover some chopped onions and celery and some cooked chicken in the freezer that are getting kind of freezer burned and need to be used.
  2. Saute the onions and celery in a little oil until burned up.
  3. Reconsider whether this plan was too much and whether you really needed onions and celery.
  4. Decide no, itā€™s a snowy night and I just came in from cleaning the car out in the cold, I want proper chicken soup!, wipe the burned stuff out of the pot, and start over.
  5. Saute onions and celery until done enough but not burned.
  6. Add water and too much Better Than Bouillon (but you wonā€™t know itā€™s too much until later).
  7. Boil, add whatever noodles you can find (I used the noodles from a packet of ramen, but not the flavor packet).
  8. When the noodles are almost done, add the chicken and any other quick cooking veggies you have around (I always have a bag of frozen mixed veggies) and cook till the veggies are done and the chicken no longer looks freezer burned.
  9. Discover that the flavor is a little on the intense and salty side because you used too much broth concentrate.
  10. Eat it anyway - itā€™s not terrible and you really wanted chicken soup!

Oh no! At least you can always add more water, potatoes to soak up salt, or even rice. I love love love brown rice (or white) in my chicken soup.

I cut my onions, carrots, and celery but put it in the fridge. I did not have the spoons to really do the soup soā€¦ yeah. I might have oatmeal tonight and make it tomorrow. At least my veggies are cut.

Hard pass for me.

I remember when they were first introduced and they would hand them to you upside down. Without fail, they would always run down my arm.

Iā€™m happy with just a Peanut BusterĀ® Parfait.

Just bringing this over from another thread in another place to explain something without further derailing a threadā€¦

What is the purpose to hanging out anywhere on the forums? Customer Support, just like anywhere else on the forums, we all tend to hang out to meet people, discuss things about the game with each other, and to help outs. Thing though, Customer Support is more of a player to player help forum. Doesnā€™t mean we donā€™t have a place to go off topic, we have the CS lounge here.

One thing during my, I think it has been about 6 months, time spending here in Customer Support is that there is a completely different vibe than the rest of the forums. Everyone here is friendly with each other, everyone helps each other out, and nobody here judges anyone. It is just that one place from the rest of the forums where you know it feels like a good place to hang out when you need a break from the rest of it all.

Doesnā€™t mean we can just create threads here that are not intended for here, but with the CS lounge, we donā€™t need a lot of threads here.

With that being said, there is that sense of accomplishment when it also comes to helping a fellow player out when they come here seeking help. Even those who just come here to CS to troll the forums, but we all just leave that to the Centaur or the Panda to deal with mostlyā€¦ some of the timeā€¦

And also, spending time here in Customer has taught me more about the policies Blizzard has set up between them, and the players. While some of them are grey areas, those ones are intended to be grey areas on purpose. But apart from that, with a lot of the policies set out by Blizzard, it is all done within a certain reason.

Like, Customer Support, weā€™re all pretty much here like a big family to some extent. Not only are we all here helping others out, weā€™re all also helping each other out, all while having friendly conversations with each other here in this lounge.

Heck, I have a relative whoā€™s a teacher and heā€™s telling me school is already cancelled, including distance learning. And this was at noon.

I remember only knowing for sure the next day, usually by phone call.
