Well, I saw a post about trust levels again a couple days ago, so I looked at my stats to see how long I still had to wait.
Turns out I have everything that I know would be needed (for a long time I had everything but the 500 threads viewed) 517 topics viewed, 26.2k posts read, 1.4k likes given, 560 received.
It says 517 posts created last time I looked, that’s wrong it should be like 4 or 5, I don’t start many threads.
I’m only aware of one post that ever got flagged, but assuming they don’t tell you unless it is actually deleted perhaps I had five and didn’t know it?
At any rate it isn’t a big deal, just a bit confusing.
I guess when I post pictures, they’ll just continue to be links.
Yeah but it helps our school children in the Fall so they don’t have to stand in the dark in the mornings while waiting for the school bus.
Also that extra hour of daylight in the summers sure does help when you have to cut the grass (Especially when you want to go out of town for the weekend) or want to enjoy outdoor activities after work.
Of course I know it doesn’t benefit all involved especially those who work nights, weekends, etc.
I do know that if you’ve had a forum vacation (Suspension) or 5 flags against you in the new forums that will stop you from getting trust level 3. (Flags show up against you in the same place the likes and replies show for your character)
On another thread I read a CM’s remark where they were looking into a forgiveness type of thing (Depending on the severity of the Suspension/Flags) but haven’t came up with anything yet and were still discussing it.
Oh and if you were naughty on one character it counts towards all attached to that account.
Relogged lots of times, it’s been a couple days, and yes I did clear cookies and try another browser.
That works then, shows four topics created
Well past 24 hours, I initially figured it was going to take a day or two but it is well past that.
That could be it I suppose, or like I said perhaps four or more posts have been flagged and I just don’t know it; I don’t know if you get a notification if a post is flagged. Either way it’s not a big deal, just odd.
That isn’t in question, I’ve been on the forums, at least to check this lounge and see if I have responses in other threads, almost every day since the new forums launched.
Can’t say if that criteria has been met or not, I would guess it has but really have no way of knowing; I read a lot more than I post.
The posts read passed the 20k mark long before the threads visited passed the 500.
What got you into Lord of the Rings? The Books, The Movies or the Cartoons? Me it was seeing the Rankin/Bass The Hobbit cartoon on TV in the late 70s when I was a kid. Dad got me the book soon after that. The rest is history.
I remember seeing the Hobbit TV special - which would have been the 1977 version (so I was 8). That led to seeking out the book, and later getting into the other books.
I was about 10 when first I saw it. My dad took me to see Ralph Bakshi’s Lord of the Rings back in 78. Had to wait a few years for the animated Return of the King.
Well, my parents were hippies and early nerds. They were among the first in Michigan to play D&D because their friend got the game rules from his buddy Gary (yes, that Gary!), so they were the primary reason.
But they were also the ones who pointed out the Rankin-Bass The Hobbit cartoon that my grandmother had on VHS and showed it to me, so I guess we can blame it on that one.
Gotta love it when you see something move out of the corner of your eye. Then go in for a closer look to see what it was.

It is a female Wolf Spider. She is slightly larger than a half-dollar. We have had them as big as your palm inside the house. Doesn’t really bother me though. We are used to it around here. Just don’t want it tortured by the kitties.
