I had hoped, somehow, that this isn’t how his story would end. It’s terrible that it took this long for his family to have that closure, but at least they do have it now and what remains can be laid to rest properly.

Yes, it’s pretty bad. It looked like fog but was all smoke. Today is going to be worse but the weekend should be stormy so the air will get washed.
Aparently our fire smoke gone international and hit europe.
maybe it wanted to go on a vacation? 
joking aside, hopefully its not as bad, or ends quickly enough before it becomes too big of an issue.

I had to close up my house today. We don’t have central air, so I usually keep it open. But it’s so thick with smoke and smells very strong. Hopefully the portable a/c’s filter will help.
Sunny and mild here; barely a hint of smoke. It’s a beautiful day for me to sit in front of my work computer. 
Our forecast highs for the rest of the week are 15+ degrees cooler than down in Missouri - they have heat indices of 108+ for the next few days. I’m not complaining at all.

We’re getting some needed rain. Fortunately, it has cleared the skies of the smoke here. I saw an app from downstate that showed that we happen to be in the clear with the smoke. But… if you travel about 30-40 miles… you will be in severe smoke situations. I’m happy to be lucky. Although, I picked up steaks for tonight. Need to think about where to put my grill.
We have had a couple of fawns come by lately. On average, we get a small herd (2-4 deer) passing through our yard a couple of times a day. They certainly are not afraid of us, even when I call out… “who’s a good deer… yes you is… you’re a good deer.” They just look at me and continue to eat the wild strawberries and other things.
Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend (Canadians on the 1st and 'mericans on the 4th). It will be a nice quiet fourth for once. Although Pioneer Days is starting soon.
