Now…the countdown begins before people start popping in wanting compensation for something they paid a lot of RL money or gold on for items that are now so easily acquired through the trading post.

Oh? I didn’t see mention of the Spirit of Competition yet. That will be nice for folks that weren’t able to get it back in the day. I believe the summer event was originally intended to go every 2 or 4 years, it just never happened (not entirely sure why).

I assume August. They previewed things for both months.
I hated PvP but I desperately tried to get that pet. It made me hate PvP even more. LOL

The video was pretty awesome btw, and now I really want to fly in the DMF. 
I can’t remember what I was doing at that time. I missed it by either not logging in or taking a small break, but yeah I’m excited to see it coming too.

I’ve never been big into PvP, I did a couple seasons of Arena 2v2s (which I was terrible at), and participate in regular Battlegrounds prior to rated BGs being introduced. I usually have fun, even when getting trounced.
I remember trying for the Spirit of Competition and just being on a losing streak. Since you had to win to have a chance at the gold, so it took a bit to finally get the gold.

It was really cute, I love the catwalk!
That used to be my favorite thing to do in game. I lost my taste for it during s1 of SL and most of the friends I used to pvp with have either moved on or only play for a few weeks/months before playing something else. It’s just not as fun alone.

Funny. I just think “hey that’s more tender to spend on other things sooner”. I already have the Spirit of Competition and the Alabaster mounts. So I get to buy other things.

Unfortunately, this has been a thing since items started being available as Twitch drops. Seems like any particularly rare or pricy thing draws out a couple of folks, or even just old things that were removed from the cash store. But I’m in the same boat. If I’ve got something, that’s great. Gives me more tender to hoard for something great down the line.

I have this tendency to get stressed out by PvP and then I want to throw my mouse across the room. LOL
I might try it this season. But I’m not sure. I really really want that Conquest Druid set. It’s THE perfect set for Thallia!
i still remember people raging over the feldrake and blazing hipogryph mounts being made available via twitch drops. i can only imagine their outrage if blizz decides to make the spectral tiger mount available either via twitch drops or the trading post. (fingers crossed they do this, because that’s one of the most wanted mounts i’ve had my eyes on, since i first started playing WoW some 15 years ago. 
yeah, i may actually go for that too. mostly cause i didn’t do PvP when it was available.
getting the holiday titles over the years made me despise PvP in general. didn’t help that Alliance on Duskwood was notoriously bad for working as a team, while Horde was just prepared for any thing PvP related. never mind the fact that your own team mates often refused to help you out, all because you weren’t fully decked in PvP gear, let alone new to BG’s in general. ._.
its on the launcher boss. i had a quick glance at it myself and…well, i’m glad i saved my tokens up from this month…though now i’m gonna have to get DF, hit lvl 70 and try to do enough dungeons/raids to get tokens for Jul/Aug stuff.

We had a few days of “hazy” skies in Missouri, where there’s just a cover of light clouds from the fires in Canada, but not terrible. Today was the first day that I’ve really experienced legitimate smoky haze. I got up around six to walk the dog, and it was foggy, and I could smell that smell of a campfire that simmered overnight. Mom lives next to a campground, so that’s all I figured it was. Nope. All day, you could smell the sooty smoke, visibility was bad, and just a gloomy day. We might see more of that tomorrow, but the weekend is supposed to be nice.
And it’s so nice to have cool nights, as opposed to tepid.
