I wonder about this too. Threw out the last one in spring because it was worn out, thinking “I’ll get another in the fall… oops, snow”? It just got lost over the summer?
Also, I live in a tiny apartment and while I (a packrat) would never do it, I can imagine someone else in my position deciding it was easier to throw it out than store it. Maybe their car trunk is full of… summer things? That’s where I keep my snow shovel and scrapers, even in summer.
(Now guess what my WoW bags look like. Won’t be hard.)

Maybe we should point it out so they dont get into trouble.
Running my last Timewalking dungeon of the night, running to the last boss and I see the cat out of the corner of my eye (he’s around the corner of a table.) Not unusual.
Notice he’s playing with something. Again, not unusual. Figure he’s just doing cat stuff.
We get to the last boss, go to pull him and I see a FIVE INCH LONG centipede that he’s playing with as it runs around the table corner into my field of vision.
Naturally, I scream, grab the cat, try to remember if centipedes are poisonous, venomous, or can hurt him in any way, fail completely as my brain blue screens, and end up hitting it with a slipper while screaming until it stops moving.
Then I remember I’d left a dungeon on the last boss. What a night. LOL
At least I got my druid to 70.

From what I remember dealing with the centipedes we had in Hawaii, they could make you sick if you had a reaction to their venom (which can be a different type depending on the species). Most people I met who had envenomation didn’t have any issues. Though at the time I killed any who came into my house on base (which were a LOT). Now they don’t bother me.
