Son vacuumed up a sock last night, and then ripped the hose tryi g tk get it out. Looks like I need to call shark tomorrow to try to get a new handle piece(it has the hose on it and clicks into the dirt tray)

And I got to bed about 2 hours later than normal. Today is going to drag at work.

At least I get tk see if my Suoerbowl match up I said I wanted in week 4 or so happens. Would love to see a chiefs rams Suoerbowl.

trying an experiment - apparently you can watch an entire forum

I’ve set it to watch the Service Status forums so I should get a notification of all threads created there. If this works IMHO it should be a default preference for all players.

The snow actually happened. We got about 4 inches. But so did the cold and wind. The feels like temp is way below zero. The wind cuts like a knife. It looks pretty tho.:snowman_with_snow:

Warming up here, 11°F now (-12°C) 13.5 inches officially by 10AM today, and it hasn’t stopped yet (although it isn’t coming down as hard anymore). Calling for a low tonight of 1°F (-°17C) and about three more inches.

Why?

  1. Not everyone uses the forums.

  2. Everyone uses the launcher.

  3. I do not need default notifications. I do not need to change a setting to stop getting notifications. I get mad when social media does this crap, Blizzard doesn’t need to do that.

Some of the feedback we frequently receive is “Why don’t you make more announcements through your own forums” - like when we share maintenance or when we post about login issues.

I think it’s fair to bring attention to the Service Status forums, but I also understand that this is not something everyone will want by default. There may be other ways to bring attention to the Service Status forums that are less intrusive, but I think it could be a worthwhile discussion.

From my own observations, the announcements that most people seem to want aren’t the service status messages - They’re asking for communication from the CMs/devs outside of threads like this one. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

There’s nothing in the service status forum that doesn’t already show on the launcher. Having that forum be an auto-notification would irk me to no end.

Now a singular push notification when the game is experiencing technical difficulties (like, login servers on the fritz, cable outage somewhere, etc.), sure - I can see that. But then, you’d have to have someone in the office with the ability to do that. :woman_shrugging:

These boards also provide us with an option to “banner” a thread, basically making it a forum wide banner that you could view/dismiss. We’ve never really had a reason to use banner threads, so we’d want to outline when it’s appropriate to do so and hash out that process.

As I said, I just don’t think putting an entire forum on auto-notification is a good thing. A singular thread now and then about really important things? Sure. Maintenance message that is also displayed on the launcher (and if anyone’s been around longer than a week knows happens on Tuesday)? Ehhhh …
