Thankfully Spectrum finally got the internet back up and running in my area. They kept trying to say there were no outages, but it was down for about 14 hours.

Woot, they did shift the orbit of that asteroid! The test-run was a success.
Oct 11 (Reuters) - The spacecraft NASA deliberately crashed into an asteroid last month succeeded in nudging the rocky moonlet from its natural path into a faster orbit, marking the first time humanity has altered the motion of a celestial body, the U.S. space agency announced on Tuesday.

Astronomical measurements over the past two weeks showed the target asteroid was bumped slightly closer to the larger parent asteroid it orbits and that its orbital period was shortened by 32 minutes, NASA scientists said.

I swear, I watched the live event and then joked that if I woke up the next day and that little asteroid was on its way to Earth, I’d totally get it. Literally cosmic-karma!

Anyone watch the Marvel short “Werewolf by Night”? I thought it was pretty good. Captured the old 1930-50 monster movie feel.
Second day in a row for a rainy morning. Yay us!
When I took my dog out for her walk before work, the sky was clear, but you could see lightning off in the distance. Which, looking at the radar, was over Kansas City, which is something like a two hour drive from here. Now I can hear some rumbles of thunder. Shame I can’t use that as sleep sounds. But a cup of coffee and the open window will have to do.

Still waiting on the rain they promised. The temps are supposed to take a nosedive (kinda like how I do dragonriding). I’ve got a crockpot full of chili simmering in the kitchen. The smell is heavenly.

It just moved through where I am. Been a wonderful mid-50s day. Overcast, but breezy.
Yum yum. Going to try a basic chicken noodle soup this weekend. My first time making the broth myself. Looking forward to it.

I cheat a bit. I simmer the chicken in store bought broth for the extra flavor.
