reminds me of my time working at walmart. >.< a lot of people asked if i’d ever go back…i doubt i ever will. too much has changed, it’s not the same anymore, and a lot of the people i considered close friends have long since left, so…i don’t see myself ever going back.
and after working in retail for 10 years, i feel like i’ve earned an extended vacation away from the workforce. i’ve got a “source of income” though it’s tough getting by on a month to month basis…still is, even WITH a job. especially when you’re only allowed to make so much, and the more you make, the more you pay out for rent and such.
Dad took me out to eat last night and the vegetable choices were Brussels sprouts, which I don’t like, and steamed kale. I can go either way on kale, depending on how it’s prepared. Didn’t expect to like it but it had some kind of buttery sauce on it that really improved it.
So my boss just got here. And he has been telli g me some things. One of our employees is out to get me. Sayi g all kinds of stuff to his boss. He set the boss straight.
I cannot stand it when people that do not know, because I do not disclose to them what I am doing about something, sits and runs their mouth and has no courage to say it to my face.
When I worked at Target, a no call no show was an automatic term. Unless it was some awful thing and you just got a warning and a flag. No one got 2 no call no shows. That’s just rude to your coworkers.
only time i ever did a no call no show, was about 4 years ago, a few days before my mother passed away.
it was accidental of course, and i wasn’t aware i was supposed to work that day. they actually called to check on me to see if everything was okay, cause i always called in, if i wasn’t gonna be in for work.
needless to say, i was quite embarased about the whole thing, but they assured me it was okay.
Me, Dad and my nephew had a great time at the train show. I picked up some stowage boxes fo miniatures, and $120 of model trees for $30 bucks. After the show, we went out for Chinese and ate our fill.
I finally get home and get sorted and my sister called. The ingition lock on the van went out and they was Stuck. Thunder-Uber to the rescue!
Can you pick me up too? Until I can afford a new car? It’s just been suggested to me that the problem it’s having might not be the relatively inexpensive coolant system leak I was expecting, but rather the extremely expensive damaged engine block that would probably mean I would need a new car. Taking it in on Wednesday.
So the new version of Link’s Awakening came with lyrics for Ballad of the Wind Fish.
I guess the limitation of sticking to the original melody forced the necessity of writing different lyrics for each language.
I’m digging the Japanese version better than the English.
Me too. It’s 20 years old and has some other issues going on, so anything like replacing the engine probably doesn’t make sense. I have some money set aside for emergencies but was hoping not to spend all of it right away. I’ve never had a car payment and really don’t want to. Maybe I should buy a bike to make sure I can get to work. It’ll be reasonable bike weather for a couple of months and I only live 3 miles from work.
