California law enforcement has always been understaffed.
This situation isn’t any different. Except that they are being a bit more picky about calls that they physically respond to.
I agree Mastadon; I have been keeping track of this curve they claim is flattening but I just don’t see it, I’ve been using this tracker https://www.bing.com/covid
that allows you to see how much it’s rising, Granted it’s not rising as fast however I was talking to my sister Tuesday night and finished talking to her a 7 pm and the case count in my county was at 108 active and just 4 hours later at 11 pm it was up to 112 and now it’s at 123. Another thing that gets me is that public transportation hasn’t stopped which in my opinion is insane. I did find out from a neighbor who got a traffic ticket that the court in my county is closed until June 1st but they’re talking about opening up non-essential places of business May 1st.
If you go back 100 years ago to the Spanish Flu Pandemic it is almost a repeat of that time and era.
Trying to decide if I want to finish leveling my Nightborne warlock (just nine more to go), or if I want to start another AR. I’m thinking the next one might be a Vulpera, not sure what class. Kinda wanna try something other than a warlock for a change. Been years since I played a warrior…
I’m also thinking I should put some real clothes on and go get something to eat before I get to engrossed with the game.
I’ve had the craving for sushi for a minute, so I finally decided to order some tonight! I whipped out door dash put in my order and flipped my phone upside down.
About a hour passes and I remember it saying 30-45 mins, I just thought maybe something small came up no biggie I can wait.
Little did I know, apparently, the guy who was originally going to pick up my food. Walked into the restaurant swore at the employees and laughed at them, and walked right out. He didn’t bother canceling my pick up and let it sit there until I guess he finally decided to quit, or it was moved to someone else.
The owner was kind enough to call me and explained what happened and that my food had been sitting there for a long time. Luckily I guess doordash automatically finds you a new dasher after one quits.
But yeah that was my eventful night!

well…if i can get another 2 emissary quests for Proudmoores, i’ll have them exalted.
i just finished it this morning, so i gotta wait for it to rotate back around…but does anyone know how often it pops up?
Random spawn every six hours, and they last for a full 24 hours.
To clarify, six-hour rotations. Not spawning six hours after completing them.
It will rebound and those that wanted it reopened will live to regret wanting it opened too soon.
For those here from Australia, How was the outbreak when it was warm there when the virus first hit? Does warm weather slow down the virus?
our State of Emergency was extended till early May. though i thought i read somewhere that New Brunswick and PEI (Prince Edward Island for those not from around here) could see theirs lifted just before the summer season officially kicks off.
Yikes! Not feeling well today so stayed in bed. Just got woke up to hail and nearby tornadoes! My yard is covered in hail at the moment.
Yikes! Stay safe!
I somehow found myself watching some youtube person. I don’t do that. I usually hate flappy lips, hate the deliberately over-dramatized reactions. So I can’t figure out why I actually was enjoying … Markiplier. That’s about the epitome of over-the-top.
Anyway, it was one of several “try to make me laugh” iterations he’s apparently done, but I then found Heist. Played it through, multiple endings.
Yesterday I’m chatting with a friend, and he’s watching a game play-through. Getting it Done, a super-frustrating game. Play-through by the same guy. And in something like the 5th or 6th episode he’s (Markiplier, not my friend) griping about his mouse being broken … because of raiding in WOW.
:cues “It’s a small world after all”:
Thanks!
Our power is still out and the rain is still going strong but hopefully the worst is gone - at least for few hours.
Trees are down next to our house and have taken down power lines. Crews are on scene to repair the lines now.
The tornadoes hit not too far from us (next county) and passed near us (we could hear them).
We’ve been getting snow off and on all week. We are 25 degrees below normal. It’s going to be the same til next week.
My partner loves Markiplier, and I acknowledge that he’s a great guy. I just can’t stand his voice.
Tornadoes are one of my big boogeyman, courtesy of living in Tornado Alley from the time that I was 3 until I was 12.
I woke up to snow. Much better than what you did.
I despise these storms and glad ya’ll are safe Kyzera! It looks like the worse of it is going to pass to the east and west of us here in the Charlotte, N.C. metro area.
I never will forget the 2 hailstorms that hit us back in April 2010, In some areas the stones were the size of grapefruit, I remember it all too well because the previous August 2009 I had purchased 2 brand new vehicles, a 2010 Ford Mustang GT loaded and a 2009 Ford Focus SE, I was sick, $10,000.00 repair for both luckily the deductible was only $100.00 per car.
I lived through a nasty hailstorm when I was living in Missouri in '95 or '96. There was a lot of property damage. As I recall, we got off fairly lightly; the only real damage that we suffered was the destruction of our composter.
